I went to milan last wednesday for test-n-tune.
About 7 miles out everything was wet, I kept going.
4 miles out it was dry, I thought I lucked out.
A mile or two from the track there was water everywhere.

They said the track would be dry in less than an hour so I went in.
They were right, the track was dry, but the system was not working.
They couldn't print out a slip.
I waited until 4:45 and gave up.

I had a couple of bags of ice on the intake, the car was "cool".
I was anxious to see if the valve cleaning made a difference.
No idea, that's my kind of luck

This morning I went out and changed everything but the MAP sensor.
I got the car up to temp refilled the coolant and did the first "burp" on the reservoir.
I changed the MAP out and flashed the car.
I hooked up a battery charger (from a stealbluesho video) and flashed the car.

I'm glad I've seen some videos or read about the flashing process because the POP through the speakers was alarming.
I remembered that was normal as well as the car going off/on.

I waited for the car to cool, checked the coolant level and went for a drive.
I had some idea of what to expect.

The first few shifts were odd, like a hard/firm shift with no no power behind it.
I was taking it very easy.
The shifting went back to "normal" very quickly.

I have been logging my car for about a month now and OAR has always been -.96.
Never anything else.
By the time I got to Meijer the OAR was -.73.
That was not good, I only run Meijer 93.

I pulled back out onto the road, put the shifter in sport, paddled to 3rd and slowly pushed the gas.

When I stopped at the next light The OAR was -.93, getting better.
I've read a lot about this and how to get the car to "relearn".
I don't know if it helped or if it is just the tune and the ecu figuring things out.

I did one log (1st - 3rd) The car does get out of its own way much better now.
I also noticed in the log that I don't have "torque source 1" popping up in ever gear. It is "torque source 0" now.
That is nice.
The car feels great and it is noticeable that Matt shortens/lowers the shift points.
That will take some getting used to.

I also sent an email to alky controls about a kit. There aren't any listed and I don't know what all I will need. I think I will put one on in the spring.
I'm not sure how much a non meth dependent tune will lower a 1/4 mile time  on average.

I'll have to figure out how to send a log to Matt to see if everything looks good to him.

I assume I send it to the sales@ghtuning or somewhere else.

For now I will be enjoying my "new" car.

My brother and I were talking the other day. He has a '13 focus that pretty much only knows full throttle and hard braking and I'm tuning a car with 99,000 miles on it.
When we were younger and you had a car with 70-80,000 miles on it was worn out and not reliable.
Things have change so much.

Thanks for all your help SHOdded.
I will try to get back to milan in the next couple of weeks and post some slips.

glad to see some signs of life in your SHO. make sure the gas you are using is the gas you are expecting. get an ethanol test kit to see the % of ethanol in your fuel, plus how much water is in there.

would hold off on further mods until a proper baseline is set.

do you have the auto octane tune or are you running the standard 87 89 93 tunes?

sending a log should be pretty easy if in csv format. not sure of sct native formats but i am sure there are blogs/videos out there. stratified is one of the sites i look to for this kind of info about ecoboosts.

hope u had a great labor day weekend.

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

I have the AO tune. I don't know if you thought I meant an e30 tune or not.
I was just looking for a methanol injection kit to cool the charge and keep the valves clean.  Non-meth dependent tune.

Today on may way to work the OAR went back to -.96, happy to see that.
I have always used 93, meijer 93 for the past couple of years.
It seem to be good gas. I did look at the E85 yesterday as I was filling up.
It is 70 minimum.
I just had a Sheets open up down the road from me, not sure if their gas is better or what they will have to offer.

I don't know if I'm willing to have to check the e content on every fill up.
I don't think I am at this point.

No sooner than I posted this Julio sent me a n email.

I may change my mind in the future.
If I do, I will have to get something else as a daily.
I should do that anyway as I want to keep this car for a long time.
They (Ford) did it right with the SHO.
It is a damn shame they don't have anything like this available anymore.

I hope your weekend was fun and uneventful, eventful to me the past few years was always a bad thing.

I have not heard back form Matt or Alky yet.
I'm not in a big hurry, I 'm sure they're both busy.

eventful used to be a good thing for me eons ago lol. now not so much. unfortunately this weekend had some challenges but we got thru it i think.

always recommend the station you fuel up at be busy with good turnover. no matter what the brand, storage tanks will accumulate water and rust if they are not filled up on a regular basis.

yeah its too bad with the discontinuation of the SHO, the Edge has now been axed. all in the push for EVs. the community has had to move mountains to get the SHO resuscitated in the past. lets see.

I know what you mean about getting through something, you hope.
I had that type of thing taking care of my mom.
All you can really do is ride the waves, because I knew there was another one coming whether I could see it or not.

Yea, I'm not really a fan of ev's or hybrids for that matter although the hybrid does make more sense (if you want to help the environment).

I also don't know who out there can afford these new cars, trucks and suv's.
The price of things has gotten out of control.
I assume most lease what they drive. I don't like that either.
If I'm that interested in something I want to own it, not "rent" it.

If it cools down to the 70's in the next couple of weeks I'll hit milan on a wednesday test-n-tune and see where my car is at.
Then improve on it in the spring.

Take care of yourself and your family SHOdded.
