Taking a cue from bpd and continuous talk about underhood heat and iat's I decided to do a retrofit with TruCarbon carbon fiber hood vents.

Here is the result :)
Im digging it, and awesomely enough it only takes a few min of driving to literally see the heat coming out of them. Im def happy with this mod.

Looks great!!
Any downside to water getting on top of the engine?

Thanks guys...
Ill get an underhood pic tomorrow, I had to cut one reinforcement piece and I epoxied them in from underneath just for extra insurance.  Didn't wanna rely solely on the double-sided tape.

I havent reinstalled the hood blanket yet, I obviously need to trim it, but tbh ill prob leave it off.

Hopefully with it gone, engine cover gone, and vents I can keep the bay significantly cooler than stock.

The carbon fiber looks fabulous against that glittering tux black :thumb:  Hooray for this bpd-pioneered mod!  You did the work yourself?

nice! I did something similar to my Jeep SRT8.  molded louvers off the hood of a totalled Viper into my factory hood.  helped with heat a LOT, when at a stop you could just see the heat waves coming out.

Looks really sweet!  :thumb: and if the hood blanket is cut below them it should keep under hood temps down considerably!

Thanks again guys... I did not do it, had the local bodyshop do it while I was away for a week on business.

And Mac, right now I have no hood blanket at all lol. So they are def working.
