And Now For Something Completely Different...

I wanted a different look for the emblems, and didn't want to spend the money for the 2013 fender emblems, so I took off the Taurus from the trunk and modified the SHO emblem using deep blood red enamel paint and clear coated.  Took the side fender emblems off and removed the inserts, filled in the Taurus logo with plastic epoxy, sanded, sprayed them with black plasti dip and reassembled.  I took the mini SHO emblems off the back doors, sanded and hand painted and clear coated them with the same red enamel I used on the trunk, then put them in the center of the fender emblems.  Pictures below.

Enjoy,
Z

This is awesome! Was actually thinking about doing something similar yesterday... Great job!

Would probably look pretty sick on your black SHO.  Thanks for the comment.

urgh.... i'm getting the itch to mess around with my emblems again.... THIS LOOKS GREAT!!!!!! Definitely would accent some red calipers/ebc redstuff pads very nicely too!

excellent look for your sho. love what you did with the taurus symbol on front quarter. now if you got a few $$ laying around, since you're going w/ the blacked out look in wheel area, i'd get some gorilla black lug nuts & get a black valve stem cover. just my view, i went with that when upgraded my wheels that had black were lug nuts where.

Funny, but I was thinking the same thing myself.

Black lugs and value stems would look better.

I'm still debating on getting a Livernois Tune or just keeping it stock.  Maybe after the holidays when things settle down around.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

i went with acorn budge 1.4" as they were shortest ones that i could find. as i remember ours are 1/2". think i went to summitts site to make sure which ones fit the sho & think bought from then, spent more but z you could check around. i just wanted the shortest length ones that i could find.

i'm sure I went with what old wheels used, which i think is 13/16". i like to rotate my own tires. don't like anybody touching my  wheels unless they have to. so i'm a little unclear. my escape uses same size socket, but challenger uses a diff size & i think it's a 3/4". but those black shorty's look real good on my wheels, just have to use an extension on the socket. by the way got some of sockets with the plastic around them to protect the wheels. love them as well.
