Colder air = less traction :(

Went out for a quick night at the local 1/8 mile track after work today.

64 degrees out, with about a 7mph headwind

8.20@86.40

was the best I pulled off.

She was definately running faster in the cooler air but traction was difficult to find, spinning on launch, spinning again on the 1-2 shift. Guess i really need to get rid of these GY Eagle F1's. I even lowered tire pressure to 27psi and it wasn't helping much.

On the bright side I walked all over a Magnum SRT-8 and even gave him the hit.

Yea.....

A lot of us have experienced traction issues. But certainly not with the temps in the 60's as you've listed.

Most of us have begun experiencing traction related matters, when temps were in the 40's.

I would say if you're having issues in the 60's, definitely time to start looking into a new and different set of shoes for sure.

it probably also didnt help that they were moving anyone running street tires over to the edges so we werent in the nice sticky rubber from the guys running slicks.
