CRC GDI INTAKE CLEANER

NAPA seems to be showing it currently at 9.99 if your local store has in stock (special pricing), if you are in a hurry and don't want to wait for the rebate.  Rebate might still apply, check the CRC site.

No personal experience, but this would be a preventative type service, done at least annually, esp if you monitor crud buildup in the intercooler.  Should work in that scenario.

There is a product out there that actually freezes the carbon, and breaks it down safely (no chunks), but not an OTC product really.

Do you have a name for said product? :)

If I can locate it again, I will link it for sure.

Awesome, thanks! I saw a mention of dry ice in a BMW (I think) forum which stated that it left no residue and allowed the valves to be left open, so the edges of the valves and seats could be cleaned as well, but there was zero mention of a specific product, process, or provider. Sounded like a specialized service provided by a place somewhere in Europe.

Wouldn't that be sweet? LOL

Yeah!  I hear people have hydrogen based cleaning methods also over in Europe and Asia.  Still think it would be for routine maintenance rather than for critical situations.
