Drove a 2013 F150 ecoboost

So I drove a new 2013 F150 ecoboost and my first opinion was that is was considerably sluggish compared to my 2013 SHO.  I thought with more torque, it would put you in your seat similar to my SHO.  Would a tune help wake the F150?

The F-150 guys rave about their tunes.  I've heard F-150s are a little sluggish off the line stock but, a tune helps this as well as on up through the rpm range.

Well lets say first to second, I chirp 35s.. and it nearly does 2-3.

Tune wakes it up.  I lost a lot of speed after my lift, though.

Before you make any judgements on it, drive the other available engines...I know that both 5.4's that I had were really slow, and that's with 3.55 and 3.73 gearing.  I think you will find that even the V-8's are sluggish.  But don't forget there's probably close to 2500 lbs more weight then the sHO, and the Taurus is by no means a lightweight.

Truck vs car. Funny. Let's pull a utility trailer & see who's faster. & on that triller is your favourite 2 toys. With tires.

I know it's an odd comparison and really shouldn't be compared considering they are set up completely different.  It was just an observation and wanted to see if other had the same opinion.  From what I've read from others, a tune does wonders.  I am a fan of the ecoboost engines and am looking to get a truck.  Thanks for everyone's feedback.

Tunes make a huge difference in the truck for pedal response, not nearly as much on the cars. 4x4 truck can hang or beat a sho across the light but will then be passed. Long term the truck with bigger turbos and e85 (not been done yet) has the potential to put down more power and has transmission parts for it to handle up to 1000tq.

When I first bought mine I wasn't impressed with throttle response, my first few tunes helped some but these newer ones really wake it up. A little E85 mix and the added power is definitely noticeable.

Throttle response is a better description of my observation.  Sounds like a tune would help along with change shift points.
