Factory Nav to aftermarket head unit?

Alright, long story short... My OEM nav headunit's touchscreen is broken. Before this happened I was already thinking about going to an aftermarket headunit, more so now that I can't do most things on the OEM. I bought the Scoshe aftermarket  [http://www.scosche.com/car-audio/2010-up-ford-taurus-double-din-and-din-with-pocket-installation-kit] however it was after I bought it and had it for a while that I noticed that it states it is for Non-Nav vehicles. Has anyone out there with factory nav touchscreen used this kit and if so, does your heat/ac work?

As I recall, the factory NAV is just a display unit with the brains being a separate module which includes the MyTouch. That being said, once old system removed you just have an open dash. Brackets with kit allow mounting of new head unit in it proper orientatin. Your entire center stack will be replaced with kit.

My install is here starting at post #63. I will repost my install as separte posting in audio section this evening.

There is note here that factory dash for NAV and no NAV models are the same.

Lastly, call Crutchfield as they can answer almost any stereo related and compatibility questions

Thanks for the info DxInt1!
I know the dashes are the same, the problem that I have is that the dash kit has a hole for the FDIM of a non-touchscreen nav car, so I have to do something about that, and I read in a few places today that there could be issues with the dash kit climate control not working with a touchscreen-nav car. I tried it out today, and except for the climate control screen not telling me the temp I am setting it to (maybe it needs a firmware update) it works fine. I tried Cutchfield earlier today when I first got concerned about it not working and there weren't much help since the dash kit under shows up under non-touchscreen nav on their site and the box itself says it as well. I contacted scosche to see if there was an update for the climate control, and Tony sent me the files and the instructions, however after trying 7, yes 7, flash drives none of them would update. I emailed him back asking if maybe I was sent the wrong files, but it was after business hours so hopefully I will hear something back tomorrow. I will document my findings and my setup when I get further, for now however the OEM unit is back in as I still haven't bought a new head unit or the adapters like the iDatalink

I see those on the 'bay a lot, I might end up grabbing one and seeing if I can use my canbus triple to make it do something... Or I might end up modifying my dash kit with something else in its place.... Not sure yet!
