FS: Sync 3 upgrade

I recently upgraded from Sync 2 (MFT) to Sync 3, and in the process, I was able to source some extra parts.  I'm selling a complete upgrade, including a Sync 3 APIM & display with navigation from a 2017 Explorer, new Ford USB hub & bezel, new Fakra GPS antenna, and a "Gen 2a" hub connector cable.  Everything you need, and it does support Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Waze, etc.

The APIM has Sync 3 software v3.0, and the display is the recessed mount variety (Taurus, Explorer, Edge, Flex, F250/350).  Includes mounting brackets for Explorer, or reuse your existing brackets.  That's what I did.

$650 shipped.

I also have a non-navigation Sync 3 APIM from a 2017 Explorer.  $150 shipped.

UPDATE: Sorry, the upgrade is SOLD.  I still have the non-nav APIM.

Well holy crap, I didn't know it was affordable to do this!  My MKS is a 2014 so I'm stuck with the old sync.  If I had any spare cash I'd really think about doing it, just for that sweet sweet Android Auto, lol.  GLWS dude.

Your 2014 should be upgradable; I think you have Sync 2 (MyFordTouch/MyLincolnTouch).  I upgraded from Sync 2 (MFT) to Sync 2 in my 2015 SHO.  It was easy.  Using Forscan, you can even change the splash screen between Ford, Lincoln, and some other model-specific ones.

That is super cool.  After you get the sale taken care of, you should totally post a write up on how to do the upgrade.  And if I stumble upon a few hundred bucks I'll come right back here to buy your parts, lol.  $650 sounds like a sweet deal for an upgrade like this.

Absolutely.  The only difference might be the connector cable for the USB hub.  There are 3 different styles, Gen 1, Gen 2a, and Gen 2b.  I originally bought the Gen 2a, because that's what 4dtech's website said was appropriate for a 2015 Taurus.  But it turned out my car had the Gen 1 connector (my car is an early 2015).  So that's why I have the extra Gen 2a.  But the Gen 2a could easily be spliced into your existing wiring (see the 2gfusions link above for a photo).  The APIM currently has the Explorer programming on it, but I can use Forscan to put in my SHO config, or program it for your car's options.
