I had been planing this for a while, I took the family out to the track for some fun. I am very conservative on the street and drive like a granny with my family in the car. So it's by better halve, my 18 year old daughter and 6 year old son. I asked when checking in if I could make the first pass with my daughter in the car. The fellow was already familiar with my car, his response was sure. Just let off before the end of the quarter. I did and still pulled a 13.25 lol. Needless to say she was impressed, It was a solo pass as the track was almost deserted. I made a few more passes and was able to net a 12.85 (it was 85F and DA was like 3000). So a bit of fun. Then my son's incredible luck as usual checks in (I mean he has the best luck I have ever seen). It turns out that a local forum had a track meet scheduled yesterday. All exotics lol. From Lambos, GTRs even a 458 Itallia and Audis all kinds (even an R8). For a 6 year old to see a 458 race a Lambo, its the ultimate dream! This is where it gets interesting. Even though I didn't get to race the R8 (V8 only) the best he could muster was a 13.2. My sons eyes glaze over and he realizes that his dads SHO is faster than an Audi R8 ;) . I have some pics and vids below. It was a great day to go to the track, I haven't had that much fun in a long time.

Cool vids.... Cooler day!!! Thanks for sharing! Love the description of your son's face when the R8 posted a slower time.  :beer2: 

Maybe dad really knows a thing or 2,eh?.....and.... Maybe you've got more of a sleeper there than you think.  :thumb:

Thanks BiGMaC, it's totally different when you see it in person. The guys with the mustangs were a great bunch. They hung out with us on the stands for a bit. Their comment when I pulled up to the line was oh there is the ultimate sleeper! My kids over heard them say, so the secret is getting out ;). Yup I really enjoy the SHO we have really cool cars!

LMS v8 tune, 170 stat, 3 bar map and corsa cat back. Interesting I also put the stock intake back in for this trip. I found that it is noticeably quicker (especially with the high temps), last year with similar conditions my best was 13.18 with the K&N and no 3 bar. So stock intake + 3 bar was worth at least 3 tenths.  I am not giving up on the K&N just yet. I am building a custom heat shield for it. And I will post my results on a separate thread. My biggest issue this year is my 60s. I just can't get under 1.9, no matter how I launch it. Even my best time to date 12.7 flat was a 1.89 60. Last year I was able to get 1.80 all day long. I think it has something to do with how the new tune is set up. I get more wheel spin on launch. I need to ditch the oem F1's.

Great videos!  Would Down Pipes get you to a 12.5?  Very impressive for basically a tune only SHO, love these cars.

My 3.5 year old thinks the SHO is the coolest thing ever.

I think 12.5 with the DP's with the right conditions is possible. My 12.7 run I was having issues getting the tires to stick. The stock F1s aren't all that great.

My dad had an 89 SHO and that was a cool car in its day. I remember taking it out and beating stangs with it. The SHO is back in full form!

Another thing to keep in mind that I have about 150lbs of added weight from the stereo mods in my car. Next time I'm at the track I will take it out and see what that gets me. So on that note they should run 12.5 with the right conditions.

ShoBoat My family did something like that for fathers day. Here my son-in-law and me(he driving) running a 350 Z. We were doing 1/8mi full out and lifting but Sam didn't lift till late.
