Future of Ford AWD is Here

Hopefully, can't wait to see what my next ride is in 4 years!

I don't mind the SHO's AWD system, better than FWD for sure.

I doubt we'll see the 3.5 Eco & upgraded AWD in any car but I'd love to be proven wrong. Now that the Ecoboost has been announced for the Raptor & Ford GT anything with it is going to be a specialty, even in Australia Ford's going to get rid of the 4L L6T which is leagues ahead of it.

The more I see the Focus RS, the more I crave it, I just can't see spending that kind of money without an interior upgrade to go with the performance.

This could be the system that takes the SHO to a whole new level:

The current system is a big let down with its FWD bias. The ability to send 70% to the rear tires would be a game changer if the SHO sticks around and starts matching the output of the new Raptor 3.5L Ecoboost at 450 HP from the factory.

I certainly hope so - with so many other manufacturers making big powerful sedans I think Ford would be foolish to abandon that market. Its becoming a bit of a status symbol to have a big hot 4dr in your lineup. I would LOVE to see a Lincoln with all the new tech to compete with the Caddy CTS-V....

will be interesting to see if ford can make a mainly rwd awd in high powerformance car work. dodge abandoned it awd mainly rwd in the charger r/t this year. only was available in '14. they kept it though for the models below the r/t.

I love that they are adding RWD. Also I expect the new SHO and MKS to have a 2.7 L with 400HP.

Well if they do i'm gonna go Mike's route and have LME rebuild with port and polish.

I thought ford had said the raptor would be 600hp plus?

That's the GT. They said the Rapture would have more power than the current 6.2L model.

Ford is about the only one with no 4 door sedan that makes over 400HP.  Hell, even Kia and Hyundai have one!
That's because they are able to leverage the low TQ peak and do more with less.

Throw your 1/4 numbers into a WHP converter and you will see what I mean

Stock the SHO isn't nearly as fast as the 400HP RWD options but tuned it destroys all of them. Thats partly why I'm glad I didn't test drive the Chevy SS since I might have bought it based on better stock performance. After reading up about not having a way to turn off traction control on the SS I'm really glad I didn't get it even though I would prefer the RWD.

I enjoyed beating up on a tuned and modded SS at Livernois CAD event. Videos make the 1/2 second difference look alot worse. After 60' it was so over.

I'm excited to see the 2016 Focus RS, but I'm not sure I can go back to a little car after owning an SHO.

Tru dat - the wifes Xsport was in the shop for a couple days this week after she got rear ended. They gave her a Fusion for a loaner, while it is a very nice car, its small compared to the SHO and Exsport.

Well, there's also the discomfort of the cockpit and lack of comfort options.....In 2013 I walked in for an ST and drove out with a SHO.

And here I am, tossing around the idea of downsizing. The SHO is way too big a car for me, so it turns out...

Hell, I think owning a Fiesta ST would be a blast. If it weren't for the impossible back seat, I'd look into getting one!

The Fiesta would be a blast....with AWD.

Being that my commute just shortened dramatically, I could see an RS in our future.

I hated the Recaros in the new ST and I doubt they will change that.

High Command also became car sick while riding on the test drive, something she has not experienced before or after.
