Gas Filler 'CAP' Security

I'm disappointed that there's no lock on the gas filler door of my '11 SHO.

None the less I'd like to get a lock for the quick fill neck.
Anyone have this and where to buy?

The SHO is relegated to the driveway now -- no room in garage for her any more,  and I'm concerned that someone may either steal my always full tank of 72 liters of expensive gas or prank my tank.

Don't need that expense at the moment and wish to avoid.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Colin.

almost 20 years of driving and I've never once had my gas stolen/sugar in tank.

Where do you guys live?  Sheesh.

Yeah cool, Qwik, I'm happy for you, and I've been even more lucky than you not having any such issues for over 50 years -- I actually live in quite a respectable neighbourhood ---------- but it's not perfect -- and I don't know any that is. -- and with gas going up in price and drug use going thru the roof, who knows what to expect from some idiot drug crazed nitwit.

So....back to the question at hand: Any such locking device?

To my mind an ounce of prevention could be worth a hell of a lot of money.

Thanks again for any info,

Colin.

Just saw this thread...I thought Ford made a locking cap for our cars...But I'm surprised that no one questioned why Colin has left the SHO in the driveway...I believe he's hoarding Corvettes!  ;D

Ah so -- my friend Mark from Pa --- been too long, mon ami -- Hope to call soon.

and the garage -- well yes it is full of another brand...that shall go unmentioned......displacing my beloved SHO -- (for the time being anyway).

Incidents are few on my street -- and I"ve been here since '84 -- but these incidents are not unheard of and being an untrusting soul I thought I'd do a little preventing.

$40 for a little "prevention" would seem prudent, mais oui?

More soon
Colin.

I bought the "Plug" for under $25. on ebay... I have used it for over 3 years!  After a while, you can unlock and re-install in your sleep!!!

Another old friend.....Bob... :)

I'll take your word for locking and unlocking in one's sleep. You must be much better at filling the tank than I -- I have to do it while awake. ;D

You can also go to any of the Mustang parts dealers on the WEB and order one. I am using the one off my 2011 GT/CS.

Thank you all for the suggestion and testimonials. I've felt a bit vulnerable without the inside release gas filler door, and this is just the ticket to ease one small area of concern. A few years and one car ago on a trip 800 miles from home, some gene pool reject, squirted paint remover on my front fender. Yes I was parked in the unpopular section of the parking lot as usual to discourage dings.  So many ways to be vandalized.

Add fulltime security cams to your wishlist if you really want to protect your vehicle, or at least get justice later.  That's a mod we really need :(
