How to clean groundhog pee\poop from trunk

Long story but I have a really stinky mess in my trunk, specifically groundhog urine and smeared feces. What is the best way to clean...Out of desperation I cleaned with tissues and soaked up urine with rag, sprayed the stink with bug spray but that probably eat my damn rug. Trying to dilute bug spray with one of 2 bottles of water I got until I get home from woods. The stink was overwhelmingly powerful nasty nose burning odor....to be continued

Good god man...smeared feces?

I don’t know that I would try cleaning it I’d get new carpet sections from tasca or something

I’d recommend pulling the carpet and spraying it down with carpet cleaner and heavy amounts of water then let it air/sun dry. I really don’t think you’ll ever get the smell out without removing the carpet from the car.

I would really like to know how and or why this happened, definitely has my attention.....

If it's in your trunk, I hope it didn't get up the sides too. You'll have to pull it all out, use some odor eliminating cleaner, like what they make for dog and cat cleaner maybe. And definitely air dry in the sun for a good while.

I would be more concerned on how the critter was able to enter the trunk area!!

The Trunk liner carpet is removable! I would just remove it and use a portable Steam-Vac along with some carpet cleaner specific to pet urine & odor !  Z

I completely agree with Z on this. After this treatment I would recommend an additional scrubbing with carpet cleaner.  Surprisingly, I am pretty impressed with Turtle Wax's Interior/Carpet Cleaner (the one with the brush on the lid). I used it to clean the really dirty carpet in my Mustang and it did an awesome job. May want to consider this after the steam cleaning and dry.
Also, I would recommend not keeping groundhogs in the trunk...or keep a Dalmatian in the trunk...ours have no love for groundhogs and make short work of them if they find them in our yard....

Just one more thought, years ago when I was a teenager, one of my best friends caught a large black snake and put it in the trunk of his Pontiac (remember this is the 60's) to take home...but when reaching home, snake was no where to be found...it took several hours of removing all the trunk and back seat trim to find the snake who had found a great hiding place...probably best not to put animals, especially wild ones in the trunk....JK
