Hartman racing has completed their 3.5 ecoboost truck engine swap into a 99 Mustang and they have also been able to tune it with a beta version of the HP tuners tuning software.

Hopefully the guys will pop in and give us some information on it.

Do ecu's come with the control pack?...as long as you have the strategy cant you also tune with sct?
Yes, it's a harness and ECU combo pack, I don't know about SCT but I'm assuming that something could be done, HP tuners is a little more responsive than SCT for platform updates from what I've seen.

Ok...just trying to see what the breakthrough is.
That somebody has actually installed one of the control packs and then somebody tuned it.
Both HUGE for the swap community.

Ok...just curious...when i talked to sct they said there isnt an ecoboost ecu strategy they dont have....meaning any ecoboost ecu can be sct tuned

Seems like all the people doing these swaps are having a hard time becuase they are using there own fuel system and various component tweaks and not understanding why or how it needs to be tuned...loke it all was supposed to be plug and play like an ls crate motor

Yes. I got the swap completed, tuned, and even raced the car at the first event last weekend. Wicked Motorsports in Toms River NJ de-tuned the car to be legal for the class rules. But he could have just as easily tuned it up instead of down. I know he worked closely with HP to get it done, exactly how I am unsure. Thats why I left this part of the project to the experts.

For anyone that wants to know more about the swap, heres a link to my blog page all about it. http://www.ajhartmanracing.com/blog/
