Intake pipe question

I have both an ecoboost F150 and a 13 SHO. On the F150 intake pipes (between filter and turbo), Ford stuffed obstructions with fins in each to quiet the turbos. I yanked them out on the F150 and noticed a nice difference in sound and performance. Anyone know if the SHO has these too?

I think your reference is to the accordion on the oem intake correct?  pretty sure the 13 SHO has one there,not quite sure about the benefits though and Ford usually puts something there for a good reason.  Z

No, it is actually past that. On the F150, it is where the single pipe splits in two to go to each turbo. Fins shown below. In second pic, i pulled these out of the piping at LEFT in picture. Very nice improvement.

New link to the Matador revision of the Tornadoair, please!!!  MOAH POWAH!!!  Seriously, would be interested to know why the "swirlers" are present in the F150 piping.
