It's official - New 2014 owner!

I've been a member for a while as we'll as on the prior forums.  Went to test drive a 2013 and ended up walking out with a new 2014 Sho.  I have X-plan through work, and that along with rebates put us in a new car with a similar payment to the used 2013.  Tux black, 20's 401a package and Mikko suede.  No moon roof but I probably wouldn't have used it anyway.  Have some mods planned, and I'll post up pics after I pick it up on Tuesday!

Welcome Watts!!!
Glad you're here!
:WELCOME:
I know your already lovin' that ride! ... and from your intro about purchase I'd say your already a mod-bug victim!
Great community and a lot of info.

Congrats on your new '14!  Looking forward to pics of your SHO and the mods you make to it.

Tune is still on the maybe list.  I would have definetly tuned a used 2013, but I'm hesitant to tune a brand  new car.  Planning to talk to the service advisor to see how receptive they are to tunes.

Looking at a custom sub install and some Led switchback/interior bulbs.

Sounds like a good plan.  I hope your service advisor is cool.  I put a few hundred on mine before I tuned just in case anything popped up.

There' lots of aesthetic, audio, and performance mods... A lot of them found here, but you'll think of others I'm sure.
I had your same cautions.  I elected to drive my SHO awhile (have some miles and push her (stress) a bit just to make sure any factory faults showed up first.

I bought in September '13.  I did aesthetic mods (threads posted) and read threads/talked to owners of heavily performance modded rides about problems (lots of threads on this to read).

Later this month, which will be 5 months after I bought her, I'll will begin installing the first set of engine hardware mods and testing them... (thread posted on this testing).  Following this I'll install a tune.

In the future there's more aesthetic, audio, and performance mods planned.... It's like bpd says.. So much planned, so little time and money.

It gives you something to research and dream about!  I can hardly wait to get tuned!  Due diligence done... enough delayed gratification!

Congrats on the new car! Great idea to feel out the service department to get their feelings on a tune. But I don't know of anyone that has used either Unleashed Tuning or Livernois tunes that ever had a problem with warranty work.  And now there has been a ton of miles driven on tuned cars without problems, you can feel pretty safe that these tunes are the best way to improve performance for the money and without worry that you are hurting the car.  Still I waited until my car had 3600 miles before I tuned it.

And here's the reason for the Taurus purchase - had to have room for a 2nd one of these...Charlotte Emily was born last night.
