Length of time to get your tune.

Thanks in advance...

I decided to go all in and get a tune for my 2010 SHO. I ordered it from LMS after reading all the positive comments about the tune and their service. However, I ordered it last Saturday (03 Aug 13) and as of right now, I still have not received my tune. I called LMS on Thursday morning (08 Aug 13) to check on my internet order. Talking with them, not only that LMS was still working on my tune, they did not do a military discount when you order tunes. That the discount only applies when you order parts. Strange, because their website didn't say otherwise. But the bottom line is that even as of now, I still have not received my tunes.

Has anyone ever came across this? Are they just real busy? Maybe it's because I still use my SCT X3 and they are using the MyCal for tuning? I don't want to count them out but after reading on how fast everyone has been getting their tunes, I am starting to wonder.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

I am surprised it has taken this long.  I assume you sent them strategy codes and unit serial numbers.  Last week, I know they had over 60 tunes piled up.  I would just keep bugging them.

Maybe things have changed.  I got mine overnite when Rick was the internet guy.  Asked price. Paid, sent strategy and next morning... in my e-mail.  However, they wouldn't supply special tunes for W/M without dyno'ing my vehicle... Which is very understandable.

I got the military discount last year buying the Mycal for my 2013. However when I was about to order the Spring kit Rick said they would not discount those because they don't make enough money on them.

When I requested a new tune last week it took 5 days and I called about 3-4 times. They were back logged about 60 tunes. They are a great company and I'm sure they are short staffed these days but communication is key. Call them and ask for an eta.

Yes, I echo the same sentiments as those who've previously posted before me.....

Got my tune, or shall I say various tunes, beginning in mid 2010. Turn around was always lightning fast (at that time).

But your experience is one of a just a few as of late, whereas it seems there have unfortunately been some length of delay(s).

Hang in there though, as others have reported, they're business across multiple platforms has increased significantly, and they're definitely worth the wait.

It's akin to salivating before the big Thanksgiving Feast gets served......

Why I went with Torrie at Unleashed.  Got my tunes in less than 2 hours of sending strategy code.  His service to this day has been exceptional.  FYI

Pretty much same experience...since I got my tune in very early 2011 it was only a few hours after sending my info...but there were a lot less cars requesting.  I'm sure the time has changed because of the amount of people purchasing them and also the change of personnel at Livernois.

Sounds like I ordered that tune a little late in the game. Should have got in on it a few years back when the turnaround was good.
Either way, I will go ahead and keep bugging them at LMS and see if that gets them going.

I'll let y'all know how that turns out...  :-\

Still looking forward to hearing more experiences from everyone, good or bad.

From what I am reading,  Dan at Livernois seems to be doing more custom mods to peoples tunes, like Torrie did for me.  That may be why things are slower, especially if he has lots of customers wanting that kind of service.  The ones I got a couple years ago and had updated to current strategy code, are the basic canned tunes, including 4+ - 93 octane.  I believe that Rick was actually mating the strategy codes from purchasers to the canned tunes, which would account for the quick turn-around.

Essentially, logging and sending log to tuner, and having  tune revised to support the data is  sometimes better than a dyno, as it considers real world operating conditions, and things like wheel slip etc.  However, it takes more time, especially turn around time, if you do the logging several times.

I'm sure you will be happy with the tunes that will arrive shortly.

I contacted Torrie SEVERAL months ago to order a tune and never heard back from him once I passed him my car's info. Oh-well...

Strange- I have done several data logs and other adjustments with Torrie and turn around has been quick, usually faster than I expected.  Mine is a 2013.

Me too...  Only thing I can figure is that if you have a 2013, that SCT didn't have the capability at that time to tune it. Torrie get's his tuning software from them.  But... surprised he didn't let you know if he couldn't do it.

I touched base with him a couple of weeks after I sent my info, just to see if he had an estimated turnaround time, and he kind of blew me off. I just wrote the purchase off at that point but I found it strange that he never bothered to follow up with me. My car is a 2013 BTW.

Bob, you may be correct with this assessment and it also seems that the earlier cars were just a bit easier to tune.  I have noticed that a fair amount of the '13's seem to have little problems (i.e.:shifting, starting, power loss) after getting a tune.  Could it be that the 13's do need more of a custom tune touch then the earlier cars?

I got my tune on Wednesday (14 Aug) and all I can say....

WOW!!

I spent some time with the tunes and I am impressed with the changes. I am getting better MPG and more power. After getting a call from LMS to see how things are going, I know that any new part that I get, I can get an updated tune.

Looks like LMS has another customer for good!

YAY!  I'm glad you finally got it.  Have fun with it.  I am anxiously awaiting my update.

Has anyone received the XV1 tune yet? Wednesday I got reply they are handling a large volume of request and will get it out as soon as they can. I'm curious what's changed in this version.
