Hey Everyone,

Had been on a break from tuning until I discovered how much potential this platform has and i have caught the bug again! This is not my first FI engine but it is my first DI setup so I am still learning quite a bit (previous exp in adding turbos to NA 60*v6's). I have a growing pile of bolt-ons I plan to install and am trying to find the best information on getting things setup.

Looking forward to learning a ton!

Welcome to EBPF, MightBeASynth!  Nice ride :thumb:  Luckily the Fusion world has a tiny bit better support than the SHO, glad you have taken advantage.  Any pre/post dyno/dragstrip times?

Thanks for the kind comments.

Nothing yet, I picked up the car in Dec and have been slowly collecting a round of bolt-ons for a kind of stage 1. I am just starting to install things this week (and this forum has me changing direction on catch cans) and hope to have everything on by the end of this month middle next.

Once I have everything on I plan to dyno and hit the track at least a couple times. No idea what to expect really, this engine responds surprisingly well to tuning and mods it seems.

This is the current list I am putting together, most is in my garage or living room. Just waiting on coils, catch can and FMIC really:

  • Steeda Rear Sway Bar w/ Whiteline Adjustable Endlinks
  • Boomba TB Spacer
  • Boomba Intake Spacer
  • Cordova Optimized TB
  • CP-E Ford Fusion 2.0T αIntake Intake System
  • CP-E Cold Side/BoV pipe
  • CP-E Hot Side Pipe
  • CP-E QKspl Downpipe with High Flow Cat
  • CP-E Rear Motor Mount
  • Gen III Synchronic BOV by Synapse Engineering (Will it fit?)
  • AMSOil ATF and Gear Oil (PTU, RDU)
  • Levels Performance FMIC *
  • Flatout 5700 Ford CD4 Coilovers *
  • RX Monster (32oz) Catchcan w/ Cleanside Separator *

I would have figured the SHO would have a better aftermarket, crazy!

Pretty solid list.  I would definitely find an AWD dyno (linked rollers) in your area to get an idea of pre-mod/post-mod performance.  Do you intend to add meth injection or a bigger turbo later on?

Thanks!

Yeah, trying to do all the supporting mods first so that when the time comes there are a few less details to worry about in setting things up. I have pretty much blew my wad and then some for this season so more go-fast will have to wait for next season.

I would tune without the throttle body first and see if you are happy...i dont think there is much to gain anyway

Throttle body swaps on dbw cars can be problematic...there are many tables that go along with it

So I got the TB installed and so far it looks OK (100 mixed miles so far) but TBH this is still a mild setup with a Torrie tune for a daily driver so I may not see anything yet. I log data every drive so I may see something there. Anything in particular I should look for?

I am hanging onto my core just in case. Now that I know how, pulling the intake off takes all of 5mins on this car. Biggest PITA is getting the coupler loose on the TB.

Live and learn :)  First time around, you are diving into an unknown territory, taking care takes time!

Great looking car.  Please keep us updated on the build.  What does a modded Fusion 2.0 run in the 1/4?

I have seen some run high 13's which is not shabby for a 4 banger and a 3400-3800lb curb weight. Hoping to hit that myself eventually, though I think I will need a bigger turbo before that happens!

Welcome lone wanderer. Hope to see you hanging out at Diamond City one of these days.

First person to call out the name ;-)

If its not modding the fusion I am building settlements and hiding from preston.
