Happy to be here.. I have been in the automotive industry for 15 years and also owned a shop the last 5 of those jpspracing.com, before getting my new job offer with Nevada Highway Patrol. Just recently bought a 2013 SHO as i was looking for something I could enjoy but still be professional in.. sold of my 99 corvette track car and the SHO will be my first ever owned FORD! After much review om excited about the ecoboost platform and the AWD system (snows here) looking forward to insight from members and being able to help with tech questions when I can.

Welcome, JP, congrats on the new ride, and good luck with your new LEO posting :thumb:  If you would like to put up a build thread for your Vette (replete with pixery :) ), we have a subforum for that.  Please do put up pics of the SHO as well!  Any mods planned, or enjoy as-is for now?  Also hope to get input from you on good-to-have mods for the SHO, as you get more familiar with the platform.

Thank you! Being that it will be my off duty DD vehicle nothing to extreme, however I will begin with wheels/tires, suspension, and braking since the SHO is quite a heavy car. I still plan a Track day or a "just for fun" autocross day here and there so handling and braking are my main focus... Which brings me to my next question actually, I do see that there are limited performance springs and without a super in depth look no current coilovers for the 2013+ SHO. Any suggestions besides paying a fortune for a 1 off suspension, such as how do the H&R springs really compair handling wise to the stock? Also just FYI back in California where im originally from I have my good friend Matt at calibercustoms.com who is an amazing fabricator so anyone with CAD designs I may be able to get matt to help at a reasonable cost if not rushed... attached is a picture of His Ride which all the Aero is in house built by them.

Finally, depending on finances, and how much I do to the SHO suspension and brakes, I will get a nice mild tune, Hot pipes, CAI, down pipes and exhaust... eventually...$$$. But im in no rush.

Howdy, congrats on buying a great car!  20 months and 21k miles later, I still love my '13 SHO.

Where in NV are you?  I travel often to Reno, Winnemucca, Hawthorne, and Elko.... a different world out there!! lol

Tell me about Elko, I own some land there I've yet to visit...

In a nutshell, its home to jacked up 1 ton diesel trucks driven by huge guys that make six figures working in the gold mines.  Crazy place, I call it the Wild Wild West.

I'll be out there on Dec 10th for a week working on a system upgrade at our 3 casinos out there.  It's fun to visit but I could never live out there! lol

Hi JP and welcome.

Congrats on the new ride and new job!

Does your SHO happen to be equipped with the performance package? I ask because the PP has some brake, suspension and cooling upgrades  over the regular SHO.

Thank you! Unfortunetly it does not, I have a friend that owns a used car dealership and it was the only Black SHO within a reasonable distant going through the Auction at the time..

Brakes not to worried about since (correct me if Im wrong) i believe its TCE makes a big brake kit.. my concern is suspension upgrades, I may look into just eventually building a 1 off coilover system since no companies seem to be producing any test/track proven systems with documented results.

You may want to contact TCE right away if you want front AND rear kits.  Not sure on future availability from Wilwood.

The only thing holding up the Meagan units for the 2013+ was the hats, IIRC.  Don't know if you could use the 2010-12 units as "cores" and custom build the bolton portion of it for the 2013+ setup.
I still have access to many of my wholesale accounts from when I had my Performance shop open. If i can get the specs from the big brake kits I can assemble my own.. also have access to a mill and cnc machine, if someone has the CAD measurements for the mounting bracket I could get those made as well..

As for the megan racing coilover, are they giving a tech sheet with thier coil-overs? I have used thier products a few times and personally only a 50/50 satisfaction rate.. With my Corvette I always used pfaft engineering and Lg motorsports products. For the evo we built we use KW and were extremely satified.. we had a set of megans for our civic SI and 3000gt VR4 both of which felt under-par but the pricing was nice. Not talking bad about megan by any means, just would want some documented track results and shock dyno printouts before purchasing again.

Very Nice,

Just got a 2013 myself!

Sounds like you've got a wealth of knowledge and resources on tap! Look forward to seeing what you come up with for your SHO!
