I have been looking at getting a 14 SHO and have been going back and forth about getting the PP or the adaptive cruise. My SRT8 jeep has the cuise and I love it. I have been reading that PTU are prone to overheating if you do not have the PP is that the case? I plan on taking the car and doing some 1/4 miles passes and maybe some auto cross in the future. Hopefully I will be getting SHO this weekend. Just not sure PP or Adaptive cruise. The dealer has both.
Thanks John

Welcome to the community, John!  You are correct, the 2013+ PP has a cooled PTU, non-PP does not.  If you track your car a lot, better off with PP OR frequent PTU fluid checks/changes.  The ACC is very handy if you put a lot of miles on your vehicles.  Also, the suspension in the PP is geared towards tracking/racing, so it is a somewhat stiffer ride.  If you have a lot of bumpy roads, then better off with non-PP.  All IMHO :)

Don't worry so much about your PTU, I never had a problem with 600 HP on my Flex which weighs much more than your SHO.
Unless you're road racing it for long periods of time I wouldn't sweat it...

I can attest to the 2013+ PP cooled PTU taking care of issues. My car has seen dozens of 1/4 mile passes, probably 6 solid hours on a road course, and a handful of donuts in the snow. No issues in 27k

Glad to have you with us!

4DR is spot on as far as any data available now.  Just get the model your most comfortable with all 'round... Part of the reason to get the SHO is a comfort factor! I debated the PP vs ACC question... ACC won out since 99% of the time it's my DD... and usually quicker than anyone around me.
