Hello, I recently bought a 2013 Taurus Police with the Eco-Boost engine.
I really like the car so far, it handles and drives well, power is great for a 4200# car. I have replaced the plugs which solved a misfire issue, and did the PTU service. I joined to learn about maintaining these cars and possibly some performance upgrades. The car is my DD for it's ability to get me there in all seasons. 22.5 mpg so far, more highway than city driving.
Here are some pics from the day I brought it home, it was a South Dakota Highway Patrol car.

Thanks Greg

Nice, I like how the police interceptor badge is still on the car ..it will command some respect on the road. You should look into getting some police wheels for the winter to complete the look..

A simple tune will impress you that much more if you are impressed now.

Actually the steel police wheels are under those hubcaps, some used the little poverty center caps, but SD must have sprung for the full covers!
My son tells me to pull the covers and just run the black rims.

Looks Way Clean... How many Miles, and I do like the color
Hello, yes it is pretty clean, it has a few minor hail marks, a couple of dents above the doors? Perp's head? Plus the holes drilled into the roof have been filled with black silicone. I need to find some stick on hole covers.
It had 135k when I got it. I've already decided when I wear this one out I will buy another.

Nice acquisition.

Lots of informative peeps around here, so you'll enjoy it that much more, once you've chosen to unfurl the modding beast from within you.

Thanks for the reply, no I am not a LEO, I am a volunteer FF/EMT and do have a lot of contact with law enforcement through my volunteer work.

It is funny you would ask, I have owned many Ford trucks over the years, but have been a GM guy as far as cars.
I did part out a couple of 05 Crown Vic Police cars, and I own a 95 Kawasaki KZ-1000P. While I was looking for the Taurus PI, I was also considering an Explorer PI but not many of those has the eco-boost and they were pricier!

Welcome. Did you get it from the west side of the state? It seems like most of the departments around here are getting rid the Tauruses for new Chargers. It does look pretty clean. Mine also had some hail damage when I bought it, more now because it hails here a lot. You can find the chrome center caps online pretty easy if you do want to run the black wheels.

I bought it at auction from the State of SD, and went to Pierre to get it. I see those center caps online, they are proud of them, I can't hardly give away Crown Vic caps!

Welcome to the community! I think your son has the right idea, take the covers off! Also, like AJP said, a tune really wakes these cars up!
