New guy here

Picked up my 2015 X-Sport in mid December. Here are the details:

Ext Color: Magnetic
Int Color: Black/Sienna
Option Group: 401A
Dual panel roof
20% tint to the front two windows

I've put just over 2500 miles on her so far and am loving it. Sold my 2011 Mustang GT and picked this up. The Mustang is definitely going to be missed, I had done a lot of mods to that car and she was laying down 419/393 to the rear wheels. However, the power, comfort, room and ease of entry/exit have made it so that about all I miss about the Mustang is the V8 sound.

I am a medically retired Army Blackhawk guy. MOS 15T. Retired in Nov 2009 just shy of 21 years and am 100% VA Disabled. I'm 45 and trying to stay occupied enough to not get too bored, yet not cause myself physical issues. My wife and I celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary on 10 Feb 15 and we have two grown "kids" who are also serving in the Army. One as a 1LT in the Military Police and the other as a new recruit Medic who just got promoted to E3.

I love my family, my Country, fishing, metal detecting, R/C aircraft flying and computers. I don't read as much as I used to, but I am also an avid reader and love history as well as science fiction, some fantasy and a lot of military based stuff.

This is my first F/I vehicle so I've got a bit to learn. I plan on going with tuning, but that will be about it for awhile.

Thanks for giving me a place to hang my hat. However, my stay here will not be very long or will be at a minimum, well, kept to a bare minimum, if I have to figure out that horribly difficult to read captcha crap every time I want to post plus the four other entries. One would THINK that would only be required during registration and NOT for every post.

Here's a picture of my Explorer Sport:

This is just a quick reply. Welcome to the forum. Congrats on your New ride.  For about $3000 you can put down the same power your mustang had.  The extra security only last a short time to limit bots. Not sure what that limit is though! One of the mods will chime in on that matter.

Thank you for your service and your family's services to our country

Welcome! First off thank you for your service to this country! I truly appriciate what you have given.

As for the x-sport, it looks stunning as usual. I had a 13 gt mustang that I also had heavily moded and switched to a 13 SHO. Now I'm putting down more power and doing 0-60's under 4's. With a few mods to the Explorer it will really come to life.

Best of luck! Thanks again!

Welcome to the forum, EH, glad to see you and your '15 XSport here.  Thank you for your and your family's devotion to this country :salute:  Apologies for the captcha, bear with us just till you hit 5 posts, then you will be home free :)  As panther said, we had quite the run-in with the internet nasties a short while back, which prompted us to up our security somewhat.

Got any pix of your modded Mustang?  Would love to see them as well :)

Thanks for the welcome, folks. Especially about the captcha thing. My eyes aren't what they used to be due to a TBI and brain surgery. But I think I can tough it out for a few more posts.  8)

Here's a couple pictures of my now departed Mustang. I had it lowered on Steeda Ultralights on Koni Orange struts/shocks, ASA GT5 wheels with 275/35-19 rubber all around, UCA and LCA's with relocation brackets, adjustable PHB, Drilled/slotted rotors running Hawk HPS pads, JLT Carbon Fiber intake and a JLT Oil separator, O/R X-Pipe and Flowmaster Super 44 mufflers, MGW Short Shifter and a bunch of exterior add ons.

I really enjoyed curves more than the straight line, but she did well in both.

I was really surprised with the Explorer Sport cornering ability for such a big vehicle. And the brakes on this thing aren't too shabby for OEM. I won't be road racing this thing of course.

Welcome, sir!  Thanks for your service, truly appreciated.

Your XSport is beautiful, that is the best color IMO.

With a few mods, you'll be smoking most sports cars from 0-70.  Should be good for a very low 13 second timeslip.  Not bad for a big o'l SUV and the price of entry!

I was tossed between going with the black or grey on mine. Only the black one at the dealer had the sienna interior, so black it was.

Nice choice! Good luck with it.

That stang's a looker inside out!

Thanks man! It was a tough decision to replace the Mustang with this Explorer. But I don't regret it one bit after living with the XSport for a month and a half.

I've already made a couple of guys who I'm friends with scratch their heads in 0-60 pulls. Of course, being Florida, most gearheads like me in the local Mustang club run summer performance tires year round. So while they're fighting for traction on a 60° day, I'm already doing 60. Come warmer weather, that AWD advantage will be greatly reduced!

I was also enthralled with the black one they had at my dealer. However, two things about black. One, it's a PITA to properly take care of it to keep it clean and swirl free. Two, with the heat here in Summer, I just couldn't bring myself to seriously consider black. The moment I saw this Magnetic color and the black/sienna interior, I was SOLD! Plus, the black one had another $5k option package on it that included lane assist (even though I can't find it as an option when using the "build" tool on Ford's website), park assist, DVD players, adaptive cruise and a couple of other bits that I just wasn't willing to pay for.

She is a beautiful color.  Get yourself a tune, down pipes, water meth injection , and then new or gap spark plugs low temp t stat and 3 bar boost sensor.

You will be 400 awhp plus. Then you will surprise everyone all year long.
