New pb in the SHO last night at Gateway!

It was extremely packed last night but I was able to get 2 passes in which both were quicker than the car had ever went! This was the first time at the track with my e30 tune and clearly was effective compared to whenever I went on 93 octane only.

Here's my slip from the first and best pass

Hey thanks Z!!

Yeah, i wasn't expecting to be so deep into the 12's last night at all! I went expecting mid-high 12's and was pleasantly surprised once I received this slip. I actually beat a new Camaro SS during this pass too

Thanks guys! I was shocked whenever I seen the time on the slip. I may go one more time to see if I can better this before the track closes for the year.

excellent times! crazy these tanks are in the low 12's with just a tune and simple bolt on's(if even that). what track and do you know what DA you were in for the runs?

I wouldnt say low 12's ...more like mid to high 12's for an average...the low 12's are typically meth guys and the standouts

That may be the case for the majority, but it seems there's more "standouts" coming along lately. I've seen at least 3 SHO's run ET's around 12.2 without meth just searching around lately. Most are using race fuel or E blends of course.
I guess the low-mid thing is in the eye of the beholder . . but if my car ran 12.2's consistently i would say it ran low 12's during a casual conversation. But maybe i just like to sound cool :) If my car ran 12.1's all day i would just say i'm almost in the 11's Ha!

There aren't that many standouts....And you typically are only seeing the people post that are the fast ones....On the forums and first hand, I see WAY more SHO's that can't break into the 12's at ALL....

I've seen 2 LMS SHO's at the track that ran consistent HIGH 13's...I've seen unleashed METH cars barely run high 12's and not the 11's that they were hoping for.

I've tuned high elevation cars that don't seem to like 13 psi and 8 degrees spark so I don't know how much success they will have at the track

Good drivers, good local fuel, and factory freak cars are all at play

And I've been seeing people call Ethanol blend fuel tunes a "TUNE ONLY" car....I don't know if that's fair or accurate...I've been seeing E tunes tolerate super high spark that pump gas can only dream of...So much that I'm not even sure some race fuels such as VP street blaze or Sunoco 260GT offer any benefit at all

If E30 can handle all the spark that Water/Meth can, would you still call it a tune only?...Just a thought.

Also, if your mission is to obtain a tune that will post good 1/4 mile times then that can be easy...Let me know. It would be fun to see how many passes and records can be set on a motor before a long block is needed...But the funny thing is people seem to want safe AND fast for some reason but are unhappy when records aren't set.

This was done at Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison, Illinois with DA around 600ft if I remember correctly. The weather was definitely on my side that's for sure

Besides your tune and the 3 bar, my car is stock down to the paper filter, so yeah, I'm calling tune only. Of course I always qualify it as an E tune when people ask because they can't believe I have no bolt ons. Unless you snuck over here and bolted some **** on while I was sleeping I don't know how you could call it anything else.

Lets call it better life through chemistry.

nice time.
What was the DA?
Your mods?
remove 200lbs some way and u might squeak out a 11.

Thanks man! The da was around 600ft this pass so conditions were almost perfect! I plan to go atleast one more time to see if I can better this time before the track closes for the year. I'm still considering bolting on my Mustang wheels which are lightweight and have a mickey Thompson et street radial. It would pretty awesome if it could squeeze out a 11.999 without meth or n2o

Mods= 3 bar e30 Torrie tune, drop in filter, t-stat, and downpipes.

JC, do you have a log of the run?

I don't but I logged 0-105mph about 3hrs before making this pass. I can get it off my tablet and send it to you if you would like?
