Solid...I really want to try a little e85 now
I've been using a 1.25 per 13 gallon mix through winter. Just enough to guard against low octane pulling timing.

FoMoCoSHO would have a better gauge on the most effective range. But I think I remember him saying something about a sweet spot at 15-20%.

HPFP has gotten louder over the course of the mixing I think. Gonna try some MMO, Marvel mystery oil to help lubricate.

Thx

I really want you to as well so we can get the perfect mix dialed in.

If you are using 10 percent base 93......
Adding 1 gal is 15%
          2 gal is 20%
          3 gal is 25%

I dont think it has anything to do with the E85. The corn and any good fuel has plenty of additives to keep that from happening.

May just be all the fuel your are ramming through her all the time.

:)

Cut those intervals in half if using a 70% E 85 too right?

That's the ultimate variable I think. Seeing a sticker on the corn pump saying 70% minimum makes me wonder.

70 winter blend
85 summer blend

I got the msds from my supplier and made some phone calls....which they verified.

E-85 consistency has gotten drastically better over the years.

You will see patterns in trims to help you gauge consistency.

The car will fix any inconsistencies with trims and shouldn't have any fuel volume issues at those levels.

And congrats btw!

With the more potent corn, I think my random misfire came because of fueling up with too little fuel in tank. Throw that corn on less than 40 miles to empty and I think it sucked in a potent chunk? Only thing I can think of.

Idk, I ran corn for 20k on the 2013 all the way up to 65ish % and never saw a misfire logged.

Maybe it sucked some water out of the bottom?

Water is supposed to have unlimited octane hence its use with meth so idk.

Congrats Rich!!
Thx buddy.

Next track day is May the 16th. In the process of training the old lady for this day. She will be the one going for lower times.

Worked out well, as she "needs" better brakes...here come EBC rotors and pads!

I get misfires and rough idle when I go from plain 91 to anything over 20% corn. At least for the first few miles till it adjusts.

I put in a gallon of meth with 9 gallons of 91 and it was not happy for awhile. A few miles later it was like normal.

Congrats on the new time!

Thank you.

Appreciate the share on the misfire experience. It's had me pulling plugs, checking all piping and hoses, cac, PTU again(don't know why I checked it again...at a point in staring at the car thinking of what to check next...you just do sonething...lol), coils, MAP sensors, intake....etc

Sensitive sensors all over the place in these complicated things I see.

After misfire I reset the codes and car drives perfectly normal. Weird

Yeah it is not a fun feeling. Mine happen after a wot run so I thought I broke something. I pulled over to look for any fluids pouring on the ground hah.

Now I just drive around nicely if I make a radical change in corn. But I'm usually at 15%.

That would be scary at or right after a WOT run.

Happened to me when I came to a stop after about a 7 minute ride. Felt like it was going to stall...sitting there it threw up a +6 KR :-[:-[:-[
