Hello everyone!

2011 SHO - NON-PP- 79k miles

I got a new set of tires about a month ago, so the car was riding like it was brand new! but in the past 2 weeks, i've noticed a bit of a hum or growl on takeoff in the right front. This is at any % throttle, not just wide open (as much as we all love to go FAST).  I've noticed also when turning and accelerating.  I have about 20k left on my CPO warranty, so if i need to get her in... the sooner the better!!!! About 1 year ago i did have my PTU Fluid changed, and have had ZERO issues with my PTU to this day.... unless this issue is related?

If anyone has any info they can chime in with, it would be great!!!

Were the hub/bearing ever replaced?  Assuming the tires check out, that's the old fallback diagnosis.

Probably a wheel bearing.  Just go on the highway and try to listen if the noise goes away when you're going around turns to the left or right.  If it goes away turning to the right, it's the left wheel bearing.  If you're turning to left and it goes away, it's the right bearing.  Also lightly apply the brakes at high speeds and listen if that quiets it down.

I guess my biggest fear is that if its the driveshaft or the PTU.  It only really happens at takeoff briefly. I do notice the car doesn't coast as smoothly (feels like it is being slowed down by something) which leads to the wheel hub thought.  I'll give that test a shot pmezo33 and SHOdded.

I need an oil change next week, so i thought about dropping the tune to stock, poppin in the 2-bar, and taking it to the dealership.  (and crossing my fingers they don't complain about the down pipes... since i haven't taken it to the dealership for about a year (before all my mods, really)).

Good thought on PTU.  Might as well have them check it while you have the SHO in the shop.  Def return to stock/2bar beforehand, check strategy code before you try to reload tune after.  Think good thoughts, should be fine on cat-less DP's!

While your there get the power steering recall checked out, kill two birds with one stone and Definitely return to stock as SHOdded mentioned, best of luck.  Z
