Pillar Pods 4 X-Sport

Has ne1 ever found a Gauge Pod for the X-Sports "A" pillar.
I've looked at Autometers website and it looks like one for an Econoline would work?
I'm going to give Autometer a call today and sea whats up?

They don't make any custom A-pillar gauge pod even for the SHO.....Chris (crash712us)makes the custom center pods but not quite sure for the Xsport, pic's below courtesy of crash712us.  Z  http://www.ecoboostperformanceforum.com/index.php/topic,749.msg6426.html#msg6426

Ahem..... hey ummm.... Z.....

The A-Pillar can be had for the SHO my friend.....

But J-Will's got a good point.... if there's a curtain air bag behind the X-Sport's platform, then may want to reconsider there Randy.

Is that a pillar custom or can it be readily bought?

He had it custom made. I believe one other user on these forums had a similar one made, per BPD1151's guidance/specs. And that second one got sold to another member on the forum I believe?

I bet he chimes in with better info though. Or PM him and ask, he is super helpful.

Derf is correct, it is custom..... but it shows they can be done.

I have step by step pics though of the process, if anyone desires for them, they can be PM'd.

It wouldn't be my customary "How-To" by any stretch, but it would at least provide a guide, or template rather, for those that can source a local vendor.

LMK.

AAAAAhhhh a bit jealous my friend...thought they were very limited and scarce with only a certain amount made.  Z

We have side airbags, I dont think you'd want to put a guage pod along the a-pillar
There are plastic hangers on the a pillar so when the air bag goes off your not getting hit with it and there are ways to zip tie the wires out of the way.

Ok, so other than the A pillar Air Bag, it iz feasible.
The dual pod for the Econoline iz only $35.00 so I might give it a try, wifes not happy about it, but I did give her $19k towards the truck, so I should have sum say, Right??

I'm thinking a Boost Gauge and ?? Opinions on 2nd gauge??

The choice of gauges, and any suggestions therein, are completely subjective.

With each suggestion, will come an explanation of supportive opinion's of why 'x' gauge should be prioritized or chosen over another.

You should decide what is most important in your opinion only, of what you want monitor, as each guage will provide that desired info accurately and accordingly.

I must say very valid points there bpd1151.  Z

I just want to know what others were using to monitor engine functions, being this was my 1st street driven turbo I  thought about OP but dont sea a place to tap into? AF would require me to tap into an 02, which I dont want todo, esp since its still under warranty. Thinking about a Vacuum/Boost gauge, or if I can find just a 2 1/16 Vacuum gauge

Tks guys

The place to tap into for oil pressure is the same on all engines...the pressure sender....need a T there.....and for afr you would never tap into a o2 wire...each wideband gauge is calibrated for the lambda vs voltage scale...so your gauge may not match the sensor.....you always mount an extra bung holio in your exhaust pipe for your new wideband gauge...a wideband gauge will always come with an 02 sensor
