Iats were too high, 160-170 most of the night. Ran consistent 12.6's all night until I let the car sit a while and got iats in 140's on this run. Met a couple guys that race bamsho up at beaver also. Car 301

Wow can't believe how high your IAT2 where.  Ive never seen that high, maybe a 150 once in awhile.
Sitting in the lanes waiting raises mine up to 165-170..

You SHO guys are lucky.  I have seen 185+ in my Continental.

Wow... the highest I have seen mine the lanes is 150...  165-170 seems awfully high...

Makes sense, although thats like cutting of your nose inspire of your face... I will hit the test button my alky kit when I am getting ready to line up.. drops the IATs about 10+F instantly..

So we have

1. remove appearance cover
2. remove strip at firewall
3. pop hood open at end of run as cruising back to lineup
4. run a/c to get the second fan activated
5. wire up manual switch to activate second fan
6. brake boost
7. test button on meth kit

anything to add?

LOL! Get a trailer for your SHO so its not heat soaked by the time you get there? And only race on very cold days!

Holy crap Bruce.  Those are really high.

The Intercooler on the SHO or MKS is apparently more efficient than on Fusions, MKZs or Continentals.  I never saw IAT2 temps over maybe 140 with my MKS.  The Fusion Sport guys complain about their IAT2 temps, also.

Bruce do you have a block off plate in front of your intercooler? Is yours even visible or is it like the sho and buried?

On my fusion there was a plate covering half of the intercooler, I pulled it off when I pulled the bumper it helps

I will have to look at it more closely and check for a block off plate.  The intercooler is visible but is behind the active grill shutters.  When the engine is hot, the shutters are open if the car is sitting still.  I have wondered if they stay fully open when the car is going down the track at higher speeds, though.

Running ac is frowned upon at the track.. dripping water all over the place. Could you unplug the compressor so it never turns on?
