SCT X4 Micro USB Cable

Has anyone here gotten their X4 to interface correctly with their computer via a non-SCT specific Micro USB?

I ask because I'm on a road trip, I didn't bring the "specific" SCT one and the one I'm using will not recognize my X4.  I have deleted and reinstalled both updater and drivers twice.  It also works fine with my HP Touchpad to communicate.

The device powers up fine but it's not recognized.

Yes, I'm using just a standard run of the mill cable and it's been working.
I think I got it from tjmaxx or marshals.

I have had the issue before... A lot of the cables that come with devices just to be used as charging cables are missing a couple wires needed to complete communication with a PC.. saves the company making them money....

You can usually tell by the quality of the cable..of it feels cheap/thin it's probably not going to work....otherwise it's crap shoot unless you just try it..

This is correct.  Some USB cables are wired to only supply power, for charging capability.  They do not have the data wires connected.

i have found a samsung galaxy phone charge cable works well.

once more you can get a 10 foot cable from 5below -for u guessed it 5 dollars
