Seriously considering this ...

I'll be picking up some Plasti Dip tomorrow. As I mentioned in my build thread, I'm not quite ready to commit to wrapping or painting the trim, so I want to test Plasti Dip first. In my research, I've found a ton of uses for Plasti Dip. Many users have had great success with dipping wheels. If I can find some locally, I'll be dipping mine in anthracite with a couple coats of the glossifier. I love the optional 20's on my MKS, but I can't handle the polished look. I'm hoping the anthracite will tickle my fancy. If so, I'll wait for the dip to start wearing and I'll have them powder coated in a similar color.

There are some pics here of one that someone did entirely... It looks awesome... Sorry I can't find it quickly.

I love the matte look!!
I decided I was going to wrap or dip my truck if I get bored with color.
I'm thinking most likely not for at least two more years...

Just remember somebody can peel it off your car when it's sitting. People love to do that around here to plastidipped cars. :)

I didn't know that the Vandals were the home team in AZ???

I would do Vinal as well.  I have a fair amount of experience with dip (trim/rims/clear dip for winter protection on the hood, etc...I like it...but if you want a whole car done, Vinal IMO.

I plan on trying the same thing on my SHO this summer.

I agree TSS... and Mike's admonition noted too... But I will say that the plastidip allows experimentation that's easy to remove and economical without the need for special tools and can look pretty cool.  That said Next to paint I also prefer a wrap to change or customize a car finish without painting

I suggest anyone considering wrap your car with vinyl talk to steve about it. All I know it's very expensive and didn't sound durable at all.

Matte Gray Plasti Dipping my SHO ...

Gonna get it done in a few weeks and post pics .
The place Im going to have do this  is going to do a matte clear coat on top as well to make it more durable .
I though about doing it myself but changed my mind .

All of the chrome trim and lower body plastic trim as well .

i was thinking about plasti dipping my undercladding a true black vs the dark gary/matte black on the MKS.  or ask the dealer about the body colored cladding replacement.  I'm sure thats very expensive...

DRII,

My MKS has the EcoBoost Appearance Package and all of the trim is already painted to match. You may be lucky enough to find color-matched pieces on Car-Parts.com or somewhere similar. For the rear bumper, it would probably be easier to just have it sprayed.
