SHO's First Time to the Track.

I've been meaning to bring the car to the track for a couple weeks now ever since I got my Unleashed Tune.  Well, today (Sunday 4-27-14) I made my way to Milan Dragway in Milan, Michigan for some Test & Tune action.  I was very pleased with how well this car ran!  The car is pretty much all stock aside from the tune.  I had a bet going with several of the locals that if the car didn't run 12.xxxx today that I'd have down-pipes on order first thing Monday morning.  :P  Needless to say, I don't need to order down-pipes (yet).  :laughing1:  I made 5 passes in total.  Aside from finding the perfect rpm to launch the car at these things are obviously pretty brainless to get down the track.  Track conditions were fairly ideal aside from a nasty headwind.  Track temp was 53 degrees. Track elevation is 672.6 ft. Density Altitude is usually pretty low this time of year.  I was ecstatic with the results.  Out of curiosity, how does my time compare with other tune only cars?

Damn, you were hauling balls for just a tune only! I'd have been happy with that time AFTER down pipes. Very nice!

1.81 60' is fantastic, that's where all the time is from, most are at 2.0 60' or high 1.9X.
Great job!
Downpipes on there will make an even bigger difference tuned.

Isn't it tuned?

Yes, it has a tune from Torrie with Unleashed Tuning.

Very nice.  What tires are you running?

The factory Goodyear Eagle RS-A P255/45R19.

great times.  Are the 19" shorter than the 20"s are is the total circumference the same?

No clue, what are the tire specs for the tires on the 20" wheels?

19s are a little shorter... 28.1" vs 28.7"

Good for a tick of gear and probably a little lighter.

Nice run for sure... id be happy with that and I have o/r downpipes and catback

So what RPMs are you launching at?

Would love to know this as well, heading to the track this weekend.

I made 4 passes in total, experimenting with different RPM's.

1st Pass. 2500rpm. It blistzed all four tires, bogged, and did a 2.0 60'

2nd Pass. 2000rpm. Car left okay with just a slight bog. 1.88 60'

3rd Pass. 2250rpm. Car left good with minimal spinning from the front tires. 1.82 60'.

4th Pass. 2250rpm. It blitzed all four tires, bogged, and did a 1.95 60'.

So I'd recommend anything bewteen 2000 and 2250 RPM.
