Thanks to everyone again for the concern, shows what a nice community we have here. Also thanks for the people who have complemented my license plates, though one of my friends suggested they might also stand for "Hit Red Lincoln" after the fact, haha.
I swung by the body shop today, they had originally hoped to have the car done by Friday but as I suspected, it's going to be longer than that. They found some things the insurance adjuster missed, I think the seatbelt and airbag were the major ones. With these items I anticipate the total damage to now push north of $11k since it was already a touch over $10,600. The insurance company has made no mention of totaling out the car so far, hopefully that remains. I'm not sure how they would calculate the total out value of the car but I took at look at KBB trade value to try to get a rough ballpark and they're not really close to that so I'm hoping there won't be any funny business.
I've already started physical therapy and the major pain has mostly subsided or is at least under control with the high volume Ibuprofen and the muscle relaxers. I do feel tired more easily than I did before the accident and feel like I need more sleep, but I'm hoping my energy levels will return as my recovery progresses.
I've heard a bit about the diminished value claim, I'm definitely going to speak to a lawyer, besides the damage to the car I was out of work for the last week because I couldn't sit or stand for too long and since I'm a contractor, if I don't work, I don't get paid so I kinda feel like that should be taken care of too.
To the person who asked about Sync dialing 911, it did it flawlessly, I had the phone in my jacket pocket and ended up getting a call back from the 911 center because I was outside of the car but had I been incapacitated I do believe the system would have worked as intended.
