Suggestions where to buy PPE catted DPs

Mine arrived right at about 5 weeks. Very very nice. I'm still waiting for some other parts for the install, including a new tap for my PTU drain plug. Unfortunately my old tap just didn't want to cut the threads... Anyway here they are waiting. Test fit, wrapped, Test fit and coated..waiting..waiting

Hey Guys,

Hope everyone is doing well.  Need some advice I live in the good old state of California.  I am trying to find a company that will sell and ship me some catted PPE DPs. I have come across companies that won't ship to California or just cancel my order. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Are you going to install them yourself?  I believe you will need to, most shops will not want to tangle with the govt.

Can you have them shipped to a non CA state near you?  To a friend perhaps?

Hey SHOdded,

Yeah, I am going to install them myself.  That is the easy part, lol. Getting my hands on them is a different story.  That is what I was thinking, having them shipped somewhere outside CA, was just hoping you guys knew of someone that could help me out.

I know when people want parts that are too expensive  in Canada, they might have them shipped to a po box in ny, for example, and bring them crossborder. That might be the way to go here.

Where in cali are you?

Beware, in California now their is a third tier of smog inspection now. (Star) You may pass everything EXCEPT visual. Make sure you know someone that can "help" with smog or you will be forced to swap them for smog every couple years

Yes I failed visual

Thanks for the heads up Dxlnt1!  I have heard about those Star inspections, supposedly they are supposed to be random right?

Cant say. Because as soon as they were online AND my car was due, I was sent there. I think its more of type of car and if usually modded. I DONT TRUST CALI TO BE RANDOM ABOUT ANYTHING!

Might be good for us in Cali to establish relationships to fall between the cracks on some of this type stuff. Im not willing to change the DP's or anything on a regular basis for compliance. But I have been able to get by with everything I wanted for my car with no issue. Last thing, and I may get jumped on here is Im still considering meth install. But thats for another post lol

You are so right about nothing "Random" in Cali, LMAO!  You are going to need to be Houdini with that Meth install to pass visual inspection or find a "helpful" smog shop, lol.

The meth install would not be an issue as its not an emissions gizmo. I venture to say most smog stations wont ask or know. They verifying the usual suspects. Cats, EGR, CEL and emissions readiness. With all the computer stuff and our AWD drive they never measure emissions. So just find a friend at a smog shop. lol

The Catted PPE's will pass CA emissions and will not throw a CEL. I also highly doubt a tech will remove the splash guard from under your SHO to look for a modified exhaust. If you need help let me know.

If its a STAR station they likely will. Computer tells them where and how many Cats are on the car. Also if for some manner you remove an O2 sensor, that too is one of the visual checks they do. As for the modified exhaust, ALL exhausts are legal. You only need worry about 2 things. If all OEM Cats are present and does it pass noise barriers.

To the OP, I have been running my catted PPE downpipes with ZERO issues as far as CEL. But that DAM STAR station got me lol

I like that Elon Musk is doing so.

Kind of funny some of the reactions to that action too. The good 'ol "F@cK Elon Musk" was dropped among other colorful comments.

Ha!

Taking his dollars elsewhere. Seems to be a growing theme around this country as nonsense continues to fester.

Interesting times to say the least.

Nevada and Texas I am sure will love that money and those jobs.  I would hope that with the savings from taxes and wages, that the price of those Tesla could drop a bit.

At this point in my life, I would never consider a Tesla.  However they are damn cool.  I took a L in the street light to street light grand prix to a P100D in my SHO, and it wasn't even close.
