Thermostat install

Hey guys,

I just installed my 170 degree tstat, it went very smooth, but now I have no heat at idle.  I know I need to burp the system, anyone have any pointers?  What I have read is run it with radiator cap off, and when stat opens let it rev at 2 to 3 thousands roms for a few minutes.  Any one with real world advice in this please?

I did not run with the cap off and I didn't rev it up either.  I just filled the res tank while cold and ran it with the heat on full blast for a few miles.  About three or four times.

It's sitting on the shelf.  black99lightning has dibs on it if I decide to sell.  If he changes his mind I'll PM you.  At the risk of getting stuck with the 170, I still highly recommend the 160.  Mine has been running great.  On the other hand, I feel the 170 is a nice medium.

It's an O ring. So you can reuse.  But I thought one of the kits came with a new ring
I haven't checked , barely on  my way home . Going to install the LMS 160 t-stat

I forget... of the 170 LMS Reisch and 160 Evenflow... one came with an O-ring and one didn't... if it comes with an O-ring use it because it's a little different... If not just reuse what you've got

I ordered my Reische 170 stat last summer from Livernois and it came with an o ring, also instructions where inside the box,i think now Reische can be found under lethal performance, correct me if im wrong.

I just opened the box of the 160 even flow and the is no o ring . Just the t-stat by itself .

Then just reuse the O-ring that was in with the OEM and your golden!  :thumb:
