Tire Pressure at the Track

Hitting the strip for the first time with the SHO and I want to find out what PSI might work best with the OEM Goodyear F1 tires. I will only be able to deflate at the track, so I don' want to start off too low. I appreciate the help on this.

To and Administrator,
I am starting to think that it might be beneficial to create another Forum Folder (not sure if that is the right terminology) to hold topics like this one that could be called "Drag Racing Discussion" or other for sharing information about set-ups for the track and other tdrag racing general discussion opics. The other forum folders for drag racing just do not seem be the right place for these kind of threads.

When I was running F1's it was dependant on track prep. I always started out at 30psi on all 4 and then slowly lowered from there if needed. Most of the time i would end up around 28 on all 4. Ive tried leaving the rear tires fully inflated to slightly higher(than the fronts), and ive always had the best luck just keeping them all the ~the same. Could just be placebo effect and the rear tire inflation isnt really all that important if its in the ball park of 28-34.

Best times achieved around 24-26 psi front, 28/30 rear. Someone could correct me if I am wrong but I am pretty sure the 11.9 was ran with 19 PSI front last fall.

I don't recall if 1stsho posted tire pressures with his 11's run. But the run was not made on stock wheel or tires, so tire pressures will wildly vary due temps, tire and track conditions. Another words there is no one idea tire pressure. But from me myself 28psi has produce the best results.

Try a pass with your normal pressure, if you do not spin then there is no need to lower you pressure. Adjust them to track conditions.
