When does the fuel light come on? 13 SHO

I've searched to no avail.  Can anyone answer this.  How many gal left when the light hits?  The thing must be fairly conservative but I cruised into the office with 5m to empty and just want to be certain.

Dunno... To protect against a need to flush the system I never let fuel get that low. I'd bet it is variable in each car to some degree based on the warning lights on my diesels.

Well, by my calculation, if the on board system is even remotely close.  I've gone a little over 360m averaging 21.7 so i have ~2.5gal left.  I know my TL-S had 4 gal when the light came on, most are around 3 and gauging from when mine came on, most likely when ours does.

My fuel light on my 13 SHO always comes on roughly when theres about two gallons left in the tank,thats about 60 miles left based on the mpg gauge.  Z

LOL .. if its like my SHO then anywhere from 1/4 tank to actually empty.. I have had it show 1/4 tank then go to red then run out in 3km.. not impressed! it especially does it on a long trip where you use a tank without stopping.. my 78 van is more accurate!

I always fill mine up when the yellow low reminder comes on.  Almost always put in around 13 gallons right when the light comes on.

I've driven on 0 miles till E for about 15 miles and still had fuel left... hah. I may have driven like an old lady for the last 10.

I drove for approx 10m after it said 0.  When I filled up it took 18.5 gal.  By my calculation, the light comes on initially at approx 2.5-3gal.

In my 2010 SHO, the it says low fuel when the computer says 50 miles left until empty. The actual amount can vary based on your mpg.
