Can I run a 245/40/R20 on my 2013 without blowing up the AWD system?

I guess yes if you run them on all 4 corners. But then speedometer will read slightly off.

I always run tires that are smaller diameter than stock.  With an SCT tuner or others, you can adjust the Speedo to be spot on... (revolutions per mile option choice).  My 27" tires adjust my axle ratio to around 3.40 from 3.16.  No fuel mileage lost due to much lighter wheels/tires.

Just a little worried since these are 1" smaller than the stock tire.

No reason to be worried it is just a difference between the front and back tires that is a no no as long as they are all same height your good

Ive been running  blizzak 225/50/18s on 2010 mustang rims in the winter with pretty good luck.
