Wow...the new S6 Audi's rock.

For Xmas my good buddy got the APR 93 octane tune for his 2013 S6.  It just ran an 11.65 @ 119 mph.  60' = 1.78  1/8 mile = 7.49

Car is all stock (tune only) with less than 5k miles on stock tires.  I'm jealous...

They say the tune takes the twin turbo 4.0 V8 from 420 hp to 580 hp on 93 map.  Holy crap.

Just thought I would share.  :)

Pretty good!  If we ignore the price differential.  What is most impressive to me is to do it tune-only.  A better ECU never hurts :)

With the awd pretty much what it runs at the track is duplicated on the street.  Most track cars cannot even come close (especially rwd, fwd etc.) on the street (especially on non drag tires).  Definitely pulling some G's off the line.  LOL

Wow that is so impressive. On the factory tires ??? That is a testament to Audi's AWD; 580hp with a pretty darn good 60ft time.

Curious to see how low all that power comes on.

There is simply no way, no how my old lady would let me park one of those in the stable.
But, oh, sweet would it be!

The ultimate sleeper... Not in the same price range as ours though.
Here in Canada they are about twoce the price of a SHO.
I'd love to meet one at the track, but when I'll get XV1 (one day hopefully)... I bet he'd be surprised to see me there all the way til the finish line!
I finished the year on a conservative tune with 1.72 best, 7.74 best and 12.08 at close to 114mph no wind.
With XV1 in three months, I expect 1.72, 7.65, 11.88 at 116mph...
Which would put me right between a stock S6 and a tuned one... I'm good with that!
Any videos of his race by any chance?

Why does everyone think this XV1 tune is going to be so magical? Is there any facts to back up said pixie dust making any of the EB engines faster?

To the best of my knowledge, the required 170 T Stat and 3 Bar sensor will allow  the engine to run a bit cooler and boost levels will be brought up above 15 psi.  That should make it run faster.

May be close to the same.  I don't know what Torrie is doing.

My expectations of XV1 are made of my experience over the last 2-3 years with Livernois with two different generations of SHO's.
On my last visit to Dearborn at Livernois, when I spone to Dan (the tuner), he told methat my current tune was much more conservative than the one I was running with my 2010. The 2010 was a non-PP with no downpipes and I ran a 12.09.
With the conservative tune and with downpipe, the 2013 (PP) ran it in 12.08 in conditions not as favorable as when I ran the 12.09.
So, XV1 is supposed to add about 30-40hp compared with stage 5 for the 2010 (with T170, 3bar, methanol). If we add another 10-15 hp for the downpipes, that should give me a good 40-50hp more than my conservative tune. On a 1/4 mile I then expect to run at least two tenths faster...
I know that Torrie has a very solid reputation and I have never run his tunes, but if ever XV1 is available one day, it should be the fastest tune out there...

Just because you said"It should be the fastest out there" makes me want to see someone with a unleashed tune be "the fastest out there"

Definately not a band wagon fan of things.

I like the guy that is willing to push limits, and go above and beyond and from i have seen. Unleashed does that. I believe they were the only ones willing to try and help 4DR tune his flex with E85

EDIT i've been drinking

I was just explaining from my own experience why I expect the XV1 to perform that well after you questioned about it... Both are very good tuners with solid reputations and I too appreciate when they challenge themselves and push the limits (when it is done professionaly).

NOW BACK TO THE TOPIC:

A twin turbo V8 with same mods as I have would be in the 10's, when I would barely see 11's... So the S6 is a supercar in a sleeper sedan with great luxury. That is what most of us SHO owners (and MKS) appreciate.
So cheers!

I like to see the guy that makes a great tune that won't push the extremes to make sure your average Joe's don't blow their motors.  Its a fine balance for sure.  While Unleashed helped 4DR, you don't think Livernois helped tweak the first Sho into the 11's?  You know that wasn't an off the shelf tune.

Back on topic, while the S6 performance is really impressive; can't they make it look better?  I still would take the looks of the S4 over it all day long.
