13-14 Sho Chrome stripes

The lower grill has a chrome strip running along, and it wiggles. Is it removable from the lower grill or is it a single piece? I want to remove it, but I do not want to break it. Any thought, anyone done it?

Chrome along the doors, is it removable and replaceable with black stripes? Anyone done it, and how?

I take it the front upper grill is a one piece and has to be replaced for a black one. Any input?

Side sho badges, do they just pop out? I'm assuming those are held with just clips?
Any thoughts and inputs would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Not sure about the bumper moulding. But the sho side badges are held in with plastic clips that are moulded into the badge itself. They're pretty easy to get out. Just be careful you don't  break the clip

Whole front facia has to removed to remove grills. The chrome trim on doors is virtually impossible to remove without damaging and I've got nearly 30yrs experience in the factory.

damaging the trim on the door, or the door itself? if there is a replacement, I wont mind if the chrome trim gets damaged. Has anyone tries the plastidip, how many coats, and how well is it holding up?

You could do a vinyl wrap instead of the plasti-dip. I did plasti-dip on the rear chrome, holding up ok so far (4 months). I did 3 coats, making sure the first one wasn't to thin, if it is I hear it's a pain to remove.

I did the rear/trunk piece too about 4 months ago, it looks so much better. however, I haven't driven the car much since, and it's still there like the day when I put it on. I guess I might try doing plastidip on the door, it just seems like a pain to mask tape around it. maybe in spring I'll do the door after I  see if the plastidip grill holds up over winter. plan is to find an PI grill in tact.

Did you see the pic I posted in the exterior mod section. 4.2 SHO custom grille, it is chrome, but could become black quite easy.

Did this about 2 weeks ago. Longest part was taping everything off. Since there isn't a clean break on the trim, you have to lay down wet coats then remove tape before it dries.

Yes, i just saw the pic. indeed, very nice. Painting it black while it's off the car is a good idea lol. I am not a big fan of chrome, eventually I would like to get one of those grills that don't have the ford badge in the middlle, or the PI grill.

the door plastidip looks good, i am not a fan of it as it is not a long term solution. I would like something permanent, but if all else fails, I might give it a shot.

Having my windows tinted, I like the border the chrome provides between paint and black windows. Sort of makes them stick out better to me. If I do ever decide to black out that door trim, I'm gonna go with vinyl, high traffic area makes me think an edge could get caught up quite easily and peel.

Plastidip is great stuff if used correctly. Trick is to use 1 very light coat and then 3 wet coats. If you don't do it wet enough it will have a lot of texture to it.

Stuff holds up great if taken care of. Don't use and brushes or wool chamois to wash or dry. I use one of those cheap synthetic "absorber" chamois from Walmart that are lint free to wash and dry.

Did all the chrome on my MKS and the wheels too.

Dipyourcar.com has a lot of great how to videos and care products.
