Just received the Tstat from LMS. Replacing it seems easy enough. I understand I'll lose a little fluid. But my question is how to "burp" get all the air bubbles out of the system? I've never done this? Thanks for any advice.
Get engine up to operating temperature with heat on MAX. Then shut down the engine, and jack up the pass side to create a high point for the cooling system. Might have to repeat a couple of times, esp if you see coolant level drop afterwards in the degas bottle. Final fill should be just a tad bit about FULL when cold. If it comes down to it, use the Lisle spillfree funnel.
Basically, once you re-fill, you leave the cap off, and rev the car up, hold it for a bit, let it go back to idle, and do that sequence 10 times or so. That should get you pretty taken care of.
You can also run the car with heat on maximum once you start driving to confirm everything is proper, if your heat is hot then you are good, but it will help get the last bits of air to the top of the reservoir. Afterwards, stop the car, carefully open the reservoir, and top off if needed.
I did the same process for mine. Somehow when I changed though I lost a TON of fluid. Ended up adding like 32 oz back. I'm guessing car was leaning bad and it was still a little warm.

I lost quite a bit doing mine, too. My problem was the t-stat housing dropped too low, and a bunch of coolant drained out. Keep the housing zip tied UP and out of the way to allow you room to get the old stat out and the new in and prevent extra coolant from draining out.
