275 up front...

Anyone tried this?

Looking at a set of 20x9.5 Advanti Hybris' and id love a set of 275/35's all around. More front end grip and rotations would work.

If not, ill do 8.5 and stay with 255's... I just think car would handle better with more rubber up front.

265/40/20  on a 20 x 9 Up front is about it for width and this greatly depends on the offset of the wheel you choose .
Most go with an offset of around +35  to 38 .
You may get a 275 to fit if you use a hot air blower to shape the inner fender well , otherwise look for it to rub at hard lock right to left .
The online wheel sites are only a basis for consideration and never an absolute for fitment issues  .
If you want the most meat possibly get a test fit at a local tire/wheel dealer first.

I believe 1stsho runs 275's all the way around. But if I remember correctly his wheel offsets are different than stock and different from front to rear.

First-SHO  Forgestar F14's with Nitto Invo's

2011 SHO

Forgestar F14's 20 x 9.5 all around with Nitto Invo 275/40-20's.
Offset +36 Front and +42 rear.  Wanted the same spacing I had with my winter wheels.  For looks for the most part.

I think you could do +36 all around in a relatively mild 9.5" config.  The front would poke a bit, but the rear would get real close to flush.  We know that 20x10 +40 works, so there's nothing stopping a +36 on 9.5"

Well I was mistaken... Hybris only avail in 8.5" +40 offset

Would this work all around? Wouldnt mind "some" tire bulge on rim... much prefer it over stretched look; just wanna make sure the +40 is ok

The Advanti Rein is avail 9.5" but again, only +40

Both are flow formed/rotary forged but I like look of Hybris better

Nice looking wheels .... But they are made in Malasia . If you intend to order these online warranty issues would concern me .

  http://advantiwheel.com/current-wheels/hybris-black/

Now now check out  Discount Tire  http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/home.do?desktop=true&sll=hpFullSite

They have tons of stores nation wide and lots of them in NC
Lots of wheel to choose from as well to fit your taste and budget .
They are open on Sundays .
Call them and see what they have in stock for test fit , whatever you actually want they order from there warehouse and can usually have fairly quick.
Same goes for tires as well , it's fittment that is the concern .
You may luck up and find exaxtly what you want in stock and or they do store to store transfers .

They are Very Competitive price wise as well

Warranty issues are much easier to deal with at a Brick n Mortar than Online , which CAN be a PITA .... I've come to find this out the hard way but that's another story .

Yea Advanti makes a good wheel... Formula 1 uses Advanti

There is a discount tire right down the street from me,  but also about 3 Merchants, which is a retailer for Advanti

Maybe so but the wheel you are lookng at is not an F1 wheel .

Im aware of that... but it shows they can make wheels.
They also own Konig and Privat... among others.

I'm not worried about the quality... and we can just leave it at that.

I wasn't dissing the product , I said they looked nice but  I and  many others  are very leary of any wheels that are made in that part of the world .
As long as you know the retailer will stand behind you the customer  , should a warranty  issue arise you should  be  OK .
That was what I was emphasizing earlier .
My original point about test fitting still applies.

Happy  Shopping and of course pic's with final decision and install !

I have 275x40 on 20x8.5 I think the off-set is +38. I got them from a member (bnoon) who sold his FLEX http://www.ecoboostperformanceforum.com/index.php?topic=332.0

I don't know if 275 would work with HR Springs. You may rub like a mofo.

Sent from my mobile, I think.

Hmm.

Nurburgs are 40mm offset; be nice if 275 do fit.

I'd rock those any day over 255/45.

Yea I like a few of the Avant Garde wheels too... 510 and 580 20x9 but they are low pressure cast... not flow formed

But it looks like a 275/35 might be fine for 8.5"

so, is the general consensus that the 275s do fit on our 8.5-20 in rims w/o issue?

i know showman has 275s and doesn't seem to have any problems with them.

i just got some 255/45 tires, and they're performing well.  But, they're a little taller overall than 245/45s (by a 1/3 of inch or so), which may be a problem if i install H&R springs.

275/40's are essentially the same hieght as stock and are much more reasonably priced than 265/40's.

the only 20 in tires within 1.5% or less difference compared to stock diameter are 255/45's, 265/40's, or 275/40's...

What's about 265 35 20

I run 265/35-22 all around (staggered wheel) on my Flex, essentially same as SHO.  Means you'd be quite a bit shorter than stock.  With a tuner to compensate, should be doable but would probably only look good lowered on coilovers or at least springs.
