A gooder twin turbo?

If the new age of power is coming via some form of boost, then all the Mfg's will need to try match their own V8 power offerings. Ford and GM have formidable offerings. Chrysler not so much.

And those boosted offerings rival the Japanese and Europeans in performance, styling and quality. Which the quality is why domestics lost a lot of steam in first place back in the 70's and 80's.

I like the very good 3.5 and 3.6 v6 of domestics. But I think a 4L v6 twin turbo is just tits. So GM leading and squeezing 400 horses, Ford should be able to match that with minimal effort. Add some wicked tuning and mods, now 500 ponies just around corner.

The Taurus gets my vote because I can fit in it without going into my cirque du soleil moves. And the AWD plants it all when needed.

Amen!!! An to be honest I would not TOUCH a GM car....have NEVER liked them and the whole bailout REALLY left me with a bad taste. I have always been a Ford guy and always will be.

I love german cars but there is no way I'd ever buy a new one. The maintenance is outrageous on them, and most it you can not even do yourself. For instance you can't even change the battery in some them unless you go to the dealer, new batteries have to programed to the car before the car will except it. My buddy has garage and specializes in german cars, it unbelievable some of the stuff these cars require.

Unreal!... kinda likje changing the front sidemarkers bulbs in a SHO... LOL

Truly my problem with German cars is that I find them austere..... I want easy to get into and does it all for me except drive.

For $70K, I'll take a GT500 'vert-Loaded!

or a Super Snake!
I might just get two SHOs... then you could have colors to do all the mods you wanted and afford downtime for the big ones or "mad scientist" push the envelope type ideas!

Up until maybe 10 years ago I swore against most forgeign cars. Most of them did not meet my styling or performance standards. Not that a lot of the domestics did, but I was more loyal to USA. Especially since my mother worked for GM.

Every GM car that I have ever owned, always impeccable performance for its time. And reliably. I know some of the nay sayers and problems the cars had, but I never experienced them on any of mine. Even my 1982 Z-28. Car was notorious for problems. But I put 160k miles on mine without ANY issues. Except I had to adjust transmission cable shift. The 200c transmission and its glory.

If I were buying a pure performance car would look for bang for the buck! The ZR1, Viper and IF Ford would make the GT-40 again those would be my choices. But all around, the SHO is hard to beat. As I said, in a couple years, I will seriously consider that CTS. A 4 door car that can put it down and take on and out the likes of comparable BMW, mercers, Lexus and Infiniti!

So now returning to the NO FOREIGN CARS thing, I will not buy another foreign car unless it is a '70-'73 Datsun 240Z. :0

Or a Jaguar XJS!

Twin turbo and small cockpits seem to go hand and hand as I think about it.
Does nissan have a twin turbo 370z? The 300zx was in a class of its own for years. Its really a classic.
