A little disappointed, Explorer Sport

Went to State Capital Raceway in Baton Rouge today.  Loaded the LMS 93 tune.  Stock went 14.44 @ 98.8, averaged 14.6 @ 98.  Temps were 65-70 degrees.

first pass off the highway.
rt .773, I was fiddling with traction control then putting the tach back on.  What a PITA.  Simple TC button!

There is possibly a tenth or maybe two to be had with better weather as it was warmer than I had hoped.  Best pass stock to best pass tuned I picked up .7 and 4mph.  I wanted some Lund/LMS times off 13.2-13.3!!!!!!

Knocking off .7 is not shabby at all.  I wouldn't be disappointed.

Get those 60' down and you'll drop another .2 to .4 in the 1/4, need to get down into the low 1.9, high 1.8.
Try launching at 1800 to 1900 rpm, seemed to be the sweet spot for me.

I was launching around 2200ish, digital tach?  I should bring it down?  I probably won't be bringing it back to the track.  I'll concentrate on the SHO and maybe throw some parts at the GTO.  The GTO should go in the 12's, recently tuned, Vararam, and magnaflow catback.

Disappointed?...... You did well!  4DR's advise is good to help a lot, but I bet no one beat your quarter with the same vehicle that day.

I was the only one.  There weren't any Ecoboost anythings there.  After the track we went to Twin Peaks, and up front was a Focus ST.

Still, don't be disappointed.  Set your goal, optimize the pilot functions.... then tune and mod until you'r there.  The engine has a lot of safe headroom for increased performance.

Dont want to mess with turning off traction control then re-displaying the tach? Just click the rotary console dial to sand mode, the one with the cactus. TC comes off, shifts are crisper, heck it even blips the throttle on downshifts automatically. I put my Esport in sand mode everyntime I drive it now!

That was one of the things I wanted to try, but didn't think about it.  My fear or apprehension was shifting past 2nd?  No problems?

Not sure I understand what you mean by apprehension 99? Leave it in D and it will shift normally( higher RPMs and crisper tho) tho it never will go to 6th gear, put it in M and use the paddles as you wish...

I hadn't run it out through in Sand so I didn't know how it would do.  I'll try Sand next time.  I know before the tune I tried it in Sand on the street a couple of times and it felt much peppier.
