New member
Hey,

My name is Noah and a new owner of a 2013 SHO PP. I am in the US Air Force living overseas. I cam across a great deal on my sho which is a story for a different time, and have only had the car for about 3 weeks. I very new to the DIY performance modding, but have some knowledge of how cars work.  I look forward to meeting everyone.  I have tons of questions which led me to this forum.  I feel lucky to be a member since it really feels like a community and not a bashing party. Thanks and hope to talk to you soon!

Welcome,

I to am a new member and also purchased a 13 PP SHO. So far the guys/gals on the forum have been very helpful and I haven't seen any bashing.

Welcome to the forums. Nice to see other veterans in the ecoboost community. Even if they are from the US Chair Force. Hehe ex-Navy here. I gotta ask. Does the airforce bases have a car shop that u rent for $1/hr where they provide u with a lift and all the tools you need? That was the best part on the Navy bases.

Lol i'm also ex NAVY. Now I work with Chair Force personnel all day on an airforce base. I do work with Marines, NAVY, UK, and Netherlands also though.

lol
I haven't been called a member of the "Chair Force" in quite some time. Yeah we get a free auto hobby shop to use, but the issue is I live so far from the MOB that it's hard to get to. I am in a very small unit on a host nation base. I also have worked with multiple different countries within the last few weeks. Nothing like it!

Welcome to EBPF, glad to have you and your '13 SHO here :)  Thank you for your service to this country!  Hopefully we can answer your questions, and get you to ask even more ;)

Wow that's a beaut!  At least you can exercise the SHO out in Germany :)

Thanks! It already seen the top shelf twice, and let me tell ya the bahn is the best roller coaster I have ever ridden!

Only about a week, on business.  Had a rental (Merkur, I think?).  Pegged top speed and then some.  Had to be way more careful on city roads & at traffic lights.

Welcome to the forum!

Thank you for your service, it is greatly appreciated!!!

Nice looking SHO! Just remember, around this forum there is no dumb question except for the one you don't ask. Most everyone here is more than willing to help out, even on the smallest of things. I mean, they've been putting up with me for months now. ;)

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! ZSHO, that is great advice, I have already had it looked at for the recalls, and my sho only needed the license plate lights replaced and the axel clamp looked at and all is well. I have a little over 21k on it now, but the big thing that has me worried is the build up of blowback from the PCV into the CAC. I don't have a lot of money for upgrades, pretty much none at all, but that issue is more a need rather than a want. Can't have my car exploding on me lol

I don't know for sure if this will help or not, but using a quality, low-volatility full synthetic motor oil might reduce the PCV problem, if not eliminate it entirely.  Change oil & filter regularly, probably 5K, and peek in the CAC every so often.  There is a HOWTO on checking & cleaning out the CAC if you need to.

That's super cool, I don't have many tools or experience to remove the cac so that really helps! What kind of oil do you recommend?
