I have had mine for well over a year now and absolutely recommend Jason over at http://www.fordpimods.com/navigation-mft.html and he will certainly do the right thing for ya for the fraction of what the dealer would charge and you can also add a lock pick while your in the intermediate area changing the APIM module and personally changed mine twice and the 2nd time around was kind of fun,LOL. but IMHO would definitely exercise caution due to the fragile plastic components which can be performed roughly in an hour and any questions you may have feel free to pm and here's a couple of pic's for ya and here's a very useful video on the install procedure and hope this help's any. I will let Z chime in on actual GPS install/lock pick install, but from the research I did related to the lock pick, it looks fairly simple.
I had my dash torn apart for my gauge install, in order to cleanly route my wiring, and tap the 12v ACC power and ground from the car charger port. Actual dis-assembly/re-assembly was pretty straight forward.
I used this lock pick install video for a reference.
And purchased the $6 set of trim removal tools from harbor freight, to avoid scratching anything up. Placed all components on a soft cloth, and used caution/care not to break anything. IMO you can not tell I had anything apart. Hardest part IMO was keeping from loosing any of the screws.
Sorry for the late response Shaun,it took me roughly an hour the first time around for the install and it was pretty much straight forward procedure.
I found using a 7mm socket with a 1/4 ratchet and plenty of extenders to be ideal and of course a long magnet in order to retrieve any of those 38+bolts which can fall inside the dasboard/vent area and are the same size.
I also found pulling the steering wheel all the way out and facing the down position to work best in order to lastly remove the instrument cluster panel which can be the hardest part IMO,here's a video as Derfdog mentioned above and any questions feel free to shoot me a pm or post your question here, thanks.
