All season tire recommendation

I'm about to replace the all seasons on my 2014 PP SHO, currently running 245/45R20 toyo proxes-4 plus tires.  Wondering what else is out there. I've found these to be OK, but the grip has nothing on the OEM summer tires that it came with. I understand these aren't summer tires so there will be less performance oriented as a downside, but the upside is they won't slide all over the road when winter comes and the temps drop to the 30s and below.

I was also thinking about getting a set of TSW nurburgring, you think this is the proper part number for those? 2085NUR405114G76

I have never had them, but hear really good things about Continental DWS's.  Have Yokohama Avid Envigor's on wife's car.  I would not recommend them overall.  They don't last very long and aren't very good at anything.  We keep buying them because they are cheap when they have rebates.

I'm torn between just running my summers out right now and then getting a set of 18" winters when the temps start to drop in the fall,  then sometime before next summer I should have those TSWs sorted and maybe just get another set of summer or 3 seasons on there or whatever.  Decisions decisions!

Yeah, tough call.  I will say that I've never had a set of all season's that were even partially as good as a half way decent summer tire.

People swear that some of the newest generation all seasons are great.  I just haven't had any of them I guess.

I believe that the Pilot sport A/S I have on my car are just as good as the stock Goodyear summer tires. I've only heard good reviews on the Pilot A/S.

Anyone happen to know the weight of the stock 20" flower wheels?  Those TSWs are apparently ~23lbs?

I believe the Flower power rims are roughly 27lbs.  Z    https://m.summitracing.com/parts/tww-65860

If/When I buy wheels, I will try to go with 9" wide instead of 8.5's.  My goal will also be to find something closer to a 35mm offset.  With that in mind, I would go with this part number instead...

The BFG's above get great reviews also.  Been eyeing those as a maybe for me.  I'll need tires soonish as well.

I am more concerned with the weight of the wheel vs the width. I had a 95 mustang all worked, i had custom 18x12" wheels on the back https://goo.gl/photos/UkyMyobTwMU7SnXo6  they were SO HEAVY it was disgusting.

I dont think the 1/2" will make much a difference for me on traction. I think suspension and the tire I use is way more important

I am all for light weight wheels!

However, after picking up rotors for this car, I've given up on the light idea.  Every part of these cars is just so heavy!  I won't go heavier than stock with aftermarket wheels, but with over 90 lbs of rotating/unsprung mass at each corner (not counting half shafts), I don't think this is an application where lightweight is going to help much.  I'll go with adhesion.

MKS 20's with nearly worn out factory Michelin's ~ 61 lbs on my scale (these tires new weight 29 lbs according to TireRack)
Rotor ~ 30 lbs on my scale
Lug nuts ~ 3 lbs
Half shafts ~ ???

Not trying to talk you out of it at all. Just saying that it would be very costly to even make a 5% difference.

Swapping narrow steel wheels on my Superduty to big wide offroad tires on M/T aluminum wheels saved over 25 lbs per corner and put a much bigger contact patch on the road.  That made a difference!

All that said, I do generally agree that suspension and tires make more of a difference than anything.  I just think that, at our 4300+lb fighting weight, we could probably use some more contact patch.

BTW, anyone with Flower Power wheels actually take them off and weigh them with the sensors, tires, valve stem, etc?  Just curious if they are really that light since my factory wheels are polished aluminum and weigh 61 lbs with worn out tires mounted and ready for action.  Thinking my MKS wheels are closer to 33 lbs.

I think a more appropriate section would be under the TOPIC weight reduction or by starting your own Topic.  Z  :)

I'm riding on Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus tires and I like them a lot! The might not be super high performance, but they're quiet, have plenty enough grip for me (never chirped tires even on full launch), and last a long time.

I have someone willing to sell me those nurberings in bronze matte color for $300/ea... wonder what that'll look like on the darkside metallic

Someone recommended me the PILOT SPORT A/S 3+ but said they'll prob only last like 15-20k miles tops...

Do you guys know if those TSW wheels need any sort of rings or spacers or something to fit?

Also what about some tire pressure monitoring sensors? If you were doing a second set of wheels, what would be needed?

Thanks for the help everyone

You won't need any rings, or spacers.

If you roll w/o TPMS sensors, it will be annoying af seeing that idiot warning light on the dash constantly illuminated.

Do it right.

Either swap over the original sensors, or purchase a 2nd set.

I know I need(or really want TPMS). I'll def have them, but not sure which parts to get is what I'm getting at. So if I don't swap them over I'll need to order some new ones.

Rings/hubs whatever I didn't know if I needed them at all. Sorry I wasn't very clear :)
