Alternative Auto Performance

I talked to my dealer the other day about tuning and my warranty and they said that they will look the other way if I return the ECU to stock before I bring my car in for service. The service guy also gave me a recommendation of Alternative Auto Performance for my tune. Heres a link http://www.alternativeauto.com/Home.html. Anyone have experience with them? They seem like their geared more toward mustangs but from reading everything about his attention to detail I think he could make a good tune. If I didn't go with his tune I would most likely go back to my original plan of LMS tuning since I live in the area. What are your thoughts on Alternative Auto?

Man, you hit the dealership lottery!

As far as tuning, I can only recommend Livernois or Unleashed, these are the ONLY folks I would trust to tune the SHO. (If Mountune USA ever throws their hand in I would recommend them also)

Too many blown up ECO's to let someone learn about tuning EB's with YOUR vehicle.

Thanks. Also I'm at 2700 miles currently. How long should I go as kind of a shakedown before I tune it? I was thinking at least 5000 miles. I would hate to find out I have a lemon after tuning and not be able to replace my blown motor.

At about 1k i put a air cai, then about 2k i put an LMS tune, then i started to get an itch for sound and went with Corsa Xhaust and PPE Downpipes and hardpipes from ECOPOWER PARTS and love the whole setup, all i have to say is every part from ECOPOWER PARTS IS exclusively and engineered, precisely for your vehicle,so support the forum.

from first glance that looks like a ok tuner shop via the website and what they have done but i dont see any turbo cars or ecoboost whatsoever. so i would think going with shops that specialize in the ecoboost(turbo) would be more logical.
and what would be the best wording to ask a dealer about the tuning? would it be a service advisor telling me this?
something tells me once a claim goes over certain amount they really pull out the big guns. Im perfectly fine tuning the vehicle just i cant void the powertrain. i still got 5 years left (3 years extended). like if my ptu fails or my transmission goes am i SOL with a tune?

Get your money back from the extended warranty and tune it.  *If* something fails,  get a shop to fix it with the money from the warranty.  Chances are you will be fine or have less than $1k in repairs over next 4 years.

How would i get the money back?
im one year in the bumper to bumper. Ive actaully had quite a few repairs. i had a problem with the rear park aid that wouldnt work for 2 weeks at a dealership. I asked how much it would have costs it was around 1700 bucks. i had the rear sunshade also fail that would have been 200-600 atleast. The blend door also went. I know these arnt with the powertrain but it still worries me to death. lol

All the little stuff I covered by the 3 year 36k mile factory warranty.

Just depends how long you want to keep the car. It's just like the lotto. Sometimes you win, most of the time you lose.

Yeah I want to keep the car really forever but something tells me ill want the new f-150 in the winter where i live you need the clearance i was plowing snow/ice all winter it sucked lol. Im really interested how the 2.7 and 3.5l ecos will be in new f-150 with the weightloss they should get off the line great.
