Any 1/4 Mile difference with a regular SHO, compaired to one with the PP ?

Rich, any advantage you may have had disappeared the second you put that K&N intake on.

It's ALL in the variables .... no DIS on the PP

P.S. ... paddle shifters for the 1/4 !?!?!?  Nah ....
Not dissing PP at all.

I am dissing the Typhoon.

Just out of curiosity has anyone tried to see if there is really a difference in flow between the K&N panel and the OEM paper filter. I put the 2 side by side. And I was really amazed at how much more surface area the OEM filter had. I am really wondering if the K&N drop in is worth it considering it doesn't filter nearly as well as the OEM.

Performance differences are negligible. I have been to the track many of times with the fastest SHO's out there. PP have a edge on 60' times. By about 1/10 of a second, there disadvantage is tire spin. The lower gear ratio makes more difficult to hook up. And our cars don't like excessive wheel spin and ECM will quickly shut you down. This has nothing to do with TC being on or off. It has everything to do with wheel speed difference between front and rear wheels.

But if I where in the market for a new SHO it would be a PP car for all the additional add on they come with now.

I never looked at them side by side but you make an interesting point.

Time to slap the OEM back in.

I think I'll start a new thread. I didn't mean to jack this one.

Did both of you have it in drive or in sport, cause if you had it in sport mode, you will only be able to go up to 5th gear.

We were both in Sport mode and we were both brake boosting. The PP is better geared from a dig, it's as simple as that. I figure one car length is worth 1/10 of second roughly. We''ll be heading to the strip at some point and we'll line them up again. I'll try to get a couple of videos next time as we only raced once. I figure at least three races is a solid barometer.

I know of at least one member here that always boasted about the PP, yet can't get in the 12's with mods.  Strange that my non PP never ran anything but 12's with the same mods.

Mine has PP and does 12's all day long. Maybe it's where he is at? DA can really change how the cars run.

The differences in the 1/4 are negligible anyway. If anything it's less than 1/10th if that.

OK JUST THE FACTS GUYS!!! 1st) My car is/was the fastest TUNE ONLY car in the forum @ 12.669sec!!
55_26_08_13_12_03_23.jpeg

2nd) With the same MODs or equal up-grades Crash 712 and I did a head to head at LMS TRACK DAY LAST YEAR.

3RD) "THE MASTER JEDI of SPEED" aka Steve 142857 is the Master of the #'s that make you fast at the track. And He said that Every little thing can change the out come. Car WT., tire size, weather what the DA is, SO in the end MY PP car vs Crash's non-PP were only 0.0006sec different I won buy treeing him w/better RT but he had a faster ET, With me having the highest mph!! SO THE BOTTON LINE IS!!! They are so close that any little thing can change the out come on day to new day at the track. BUT I STILL BEAT CRASH!!!!!LOL  :mike1:

By the way Crash what are you tire size? 275x40x20 here.

All this said I have a non PP and am envious of the Trans cooler and PTU cooler...i would take a tenth added to the 1/4 just to have those protection parts!!!

I ran a best of 12.7582 tune only with times getting better each run...12.6's were coming I felt but the brakes said no more. Had the pleasure of meeting crash at lms track day this year and then he wooped on me with a 12.38!!! Crazy part is he hasn't hit lower times than what he did with stock rims. Aftermarket rims were 20lbs. lighter each and still no gains???

HA Crash, nice to hear from you. My best METH time is 12.33sec @80deg So your 12.25sec is still safe but some cool temp and I want to beat mike's 12.27sec (best before he added the big turbo's) I'm always messing with bpd about his car is "TOO PRETTY TO BE FAST" So I need my best METH time to be better than his!!!!!!LOL But EXPT for the tires our MOD's are equal to each other. Even if I don't beat you there is a 0.01sec that I can beat MIKE BY!!!!ROTFLMBO

I had the 13sho non pp,braannd new for 2 weeks and then traded it in for the car that i have now,the 13 SHO PP,everyones opinion varies here and each to their own,but to be honest with you i noticed the 13 pp sho was quicker in 1/4 as soon as the salesman gave me the key to test drive it alone, also the 13 pp the engine sounded, louder, meaner, thats only my opinion, since both cars were brand new and no mods.
