Blend Door Diagnostics?

Does anyone know of a way to test the blend doors? I am getting the tell-tale ticking on the drivers side and want to be sure when I take it in (I would think ESP should cover it).

The flow changes to the defroster, panel and floor ok, but the drivers side seems colder, plus the ticking I hear.

Is there any way I can confirm the blend door isn't functioning properly?

i had a loud knocking noise that happened what something attached to the blend door went. i forget what it was. I also hear a few random scratching noises coming out of the glovebox and by the pedals less often. I got it looked at they fixed the loud knock but not the scratching/ratcheting noise.
