Boost & Questions

Hi all,

New and have been slowly tracking problems with my SHO (unleashed 93 tune currently).  For a good while I was having up to 22psi boost spikes and I found 2 leaks that have been repaired now (throttle body hose clamp was stripped and vac line going from boost solenoid to charge pipe).

My boost levels have been ALOT better in the past two revs of the tune but I wanted to see what other Unleashed users were experiencing as far as a +/- of boost.  Lately I am anywhere from +/- 0.75 of my 15 psi target.  My fuel pressure seems to be better (not sure still if I am positive on acceptable levels through the powerband yet though) and my OAR is stuck at -0.96 so I believe my fuel is good.

Running a standard 93 (e10) what is normal lambse for banks 1 and 2?  I have been trying to educate myself on some of these as I am still new to these cars.  Also what is the reason for 2 banks of lambse?

thanks!

Have you looked at your boost level at the 2-3 wot upshift?..i bet you are alot more off than .75 psi of your target

There are 2 banks of cylinders so thats why....each bank could have different fuel adders and compensations for temp control of the exhaust and head compoents...the exit paths of the exhaust is not symmetrical

Temp control can change the lambda targets(lambse) and it doesnt have to be the same for both banks

Hey Brad. Actually I emailed you earlier last week a little. You looked at one of my catalogs.  I'll try to snag a look at the 2 to 3 to shift and see what I notice. I'll also try to get a datalog to post and see everyone's response.

Don't think I counted you out for an e tune either. Just waiting to get this hashed out with Torrie so I can give a little comparison between the two.

Now everything makes much more sense for the banks. I was a little lost without that tid bit of information.

Yeah but if I remember you didnt have the correct kind of parameters logged for a proper evaluation.

So how long does it take you to get to keystone or PRP?

Yeah that was a problem. Do you have a config file I could use to take one? If not I have my original config from Torrie and could use that one. I'm really considering an e20 mix. We just got e85 at a local gas station finally.  How much reduction of fuel mileage woukd you expect with a mix?

Keystone is about an hour for me to get to, not too bad.

From recent experience i've seen around a 1MPG(or even less) average loss from my normal 91 octane tune to my E20 tune. Probably 70/30 highway/street driving. 20.2-21MPG on 91 and 19.3-20.2MPG on E20 tune. Both AJP Turbo tunes made from the adrenal glands of baby jesus himself! LOL

We gonna get an ecoboost party together at Keystone this year??  I know I can't wait to see what Brads tune did for my car.

Good old IKEA!  I'll definitely going to go and I have another SHO Brethern here at my work.  Brad I am trying to convince him to go to you.  He has a 2015 nonpp and ran a 13.2 bone stock.  Once I have my tunes hashed out with Torrie (hopefully soon, 11 revs already) I am going to give Brad's a try.

Trust me you won't be disappointed.  Brad has worked his tail off on my tune especially the past few weeks when my car presented a 'mystery hiccup' which he smoothed out in very short order.

Hmmm when do we want to do this? It's about 3.5hrs from my place.... I might be game for a meet up!

Is there an ethanol pump round that area?

Non ecoboosters welcome?

Ugh. I guess :)

My boss will probably bring his 2002 Firebird too. He hasn't ran it since building the top end.

As far as e85, I'm not sure but I'm heading past it next month. I'll stop at a few stations and check for you.

Finally got a datalog with the config file sent to me.  See attached and let me know what you guys think. First pull in sport mode, second in drive mode.
