bpd1151's 2010 SHO Rebuild Thread....

Reserving this space for any/all updates pertaining to the rebuild of my 2010 SHO following the catastrophic failure while my SHO was at Livernois Motorsports.

I've chosen to utilize an entirely different vendor for the rebuild. Max Power Automotive located in Lockport, IL.

Although I don't do FB, here is a link for those guys that do:

https://m.facebook.com/Maxpowerautomotive/

Moving along, the motor has been completely torn down, and the results of which are located in a thread I started titled "A sad, sad day in the history of my SHO".

We are aiming for between 1,000 and 1,100 horsepower with this build.

The block has currently been shipped off for closed decking.

All new internal parts will be utilized and we will be having all of those internals treated with a "WPC Treatment". More info on that, can be had here:

http://www.wpctreatment.com/#

Click on the "About WPC" tab on their homepage.

Additionally, I will be purchasing a new PTU, and having that disassembled and sent off for the same treatment process described above.

I plan on ordering a PI alternator as well, in order to handle the electrical stress from audio system sufficiently.

Currently in the process of researching trans upgrades as well, even if it need be custom.

More info to follow as it occurs.

I've been busy working a butt load of overtime (which is something I previously chose never to do) but given the costs that lie ahead, well worth the effort IMHO.

Anyhow, I hope everyone's well and enjoying their Summer respectively. Kind of bummed about this entire show/track season likely being a wash. But, I have goals to achieve in my crosshairs, and my motivation to come back even better than before, have me grounded and focused!

As always, stay tuned.......

I will be anxiously waiting for updates. I wish you nothing but the best in your rise from the ashes. Good luck it sounds like its going to be an awesome build.

I'm so pumped for this! That's some astounding goals and looking forward to seeing how you do it!

Ya know if you are looking to re-home your atps in the process... I know a guy

Looking forward to your very own dedicated custom build there bpd1151!  :)
I'm quite certain it will shatter records in every aspect but most importantly truly glad to hear the enthusiasm full of motivation and dedication once again! Welcome back! Z

Oh man, with a custom build the possibilities are endless.  Could we see a big ole' single turbo setup?  Or completely new twin turbo manifolds to use different turbos?  Or who knows what?  I'm pumped, best of luck to ya BPD!

You're way off on your guesstimates Mr. Wood. Rumor has it...3 hairdryers, NOS, meth and a roots blower for instant off the line torque. Also, is working closely with Jordan on weight reduction techniques. Hey...that's just what I heard but I ain't one to gossip.

This car is too iconic to be sent to pasture. Will be glad to see it come back on the street where it belongs!

Oh, almost forgot.....

The plans are to also USE the DW Injectors as well.

Just because one company can't tune with them, doesn't necessarily mean others cannot.

DW claims a max flow rate of 30% greater than the OEM Injectors.

Again, AT MAX.

So certainly not like these caused any fuel wash of the cylinders as originally believed. Never any evidence of that as it was learned.

So, sending them off to the same company that re-worked my OEM's in Ohio, to have the DW's looked over, new o-rings, balanced and flow tested. Make sure they're all good to go once again.

Nice to see the excitement and enthusiasm. Appreciate all the continued interest!

They are excellent injectors and the plug and play data is readily available from DW and sct to plug into the software to use for your strategy....any sct tuning dealer has access to the data in their software

The needed injector data for the calibration has actually been available for a few years

Awesome bpd...this is gonna be awesome...cripes you shootin' for low 9's or better?  She is gonna be a fast be'aatch that is for sure.

I'm subd here for sure and I'm also following you over on the SHO forum. Can't wait to see what transpires!

Thanks to everyone for subscribing, posting of positive comments, all the support, etc.

The road ahead is filled with challenges for sure.

Goals are set for reasons. Hopefully they can be achieved.

Been logging lots of overtime hours at work to offset current, and anticipated costs.

Given it's August, the likelihood of the car being completed this year is NOT LIKELY.

I'm hopeful though for Spring of 2020.

Fingers crossed and updates will be posted as they occur.

08/09/2019 --- Ordered the new PTU replacement and the Police Interceptor alternator for my SHO.

BOTH are due in early next week.

Alternator will sit and collect dust so to speak, while other aspects keep chugging along.

PTU will immediately be brought to the machine shop performing my rebuild, so that they can disassemble it, and prep it for the WPC Treatment (previously discussed) to coincide with treating the various internal engine bits.

Slow progress, but progress nonetheless.

Also have some inquiries into (possible) trans upgrades.

Trying to budget ahead of time, while continuing to submit myself to slavery type hours of overtime at my employer.

I've been blessed with more hours than I anticipated. Which is good for the pocket, but bad for the body.

Motivation's still burning strong, so ahead I forge. Hope everyone's well and enjoying their Summer.

I'm living vicariously through all of your posts about your experiences, so even though I don't reply as often as in years past, know that I'm reading each of them, and smiling.

I can truly say after all this saga bpd1151 is one Heck of a loyal Ford enthusiast to say the least!

To be fair Think SHOdded is on Top of the list for enthusiasts! Z  :)

Thus why I STRONGLY recommended SHOdded be included as one of the staff here at EBPF so many years ago.

His dedication, as well as yours Z, have both been nothing short of exemplary.
