Buying and Storing Meth?

Ok, so I am taking the Meth plunge.  But before I do I have questions on Meth storage.  It has a low flashpoint and it is also subject to low charge static ignition as well (scuff your feet, touched open metal container.. boom), So how are people storing this stuff?

My initial though is if I will be mixing my own to pre-buy a meth rated container so I can pour half into the empty, then fill each half container with the DI for a stable 50/50, boom done.

Second,  in my testing last friday,  I found that 15/85 cooled as well as 60/40 .. So what is the SAFE max Meth ration to DI for self ignition resistance to common temperatures (160f or less) and static discharge? .. It seems to me that what ever TINY loss of thermal cooling for going higher meth ratio% would be VASTLY offset by much higher timing gains?

I think it was ZSHO that showed a 5gal jug he uses for meth?  He got off of amazon, $40-50range I think.  It is like motorcycle gas jugs you see motox guys use.  Also need the spout for it, should be easy to find it you follow the link and keep searching.
https://www.amazon.com/VP-Racing-Fuels-3522-Motorsport/dp/B003TTYUHS/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1501089835&sr=8-9&keywords=5gal+jug

When I was planning to do meth I was going to get one of those since it also was easier to fill the car with.  I would pour 1/2 the 5gal jug of meth into it, then add the water for 50/50, then do the same to the original 5gal meth container.  That way I had 10gal, of premixed 50/50 so it was safer to store and have around.

Depends on who's meth kit you are running and what brand of methanol you are running.  I keep my M1 from VP in the metal container is comes in.  Not sure about Sunoco Methanol.

The VP canisters are fabricated so as not to require any special anything as it relates to storage.

You, as the end user, purchase it (whether it be 5gal pails, or 55gal drums) then chuck it into your garage, etc. & no worries.

Been doing that myself now for over 5yrs straight and never an issue.

I am not one to subscribe to the philosophy of mixing. I purchase the 100% Methanol, which is exactly  what gets put into, and used into my SHO, as well as for storing.

I too, like BAM_SHO can't speak for, or vouch for, other products.

The snow kit should be 100% Meth compatible.  I am yet undecided on running full meth or some mixture of 50/50 or more .. I like the idea of running 100% .. hmm

I think Methanol has roughly one years shelf life after its open. IIRC.  Z

FWIW-StealBlueSho(SBL) kindly recommended this Fuel Transfer Pump Kit which works as designed and is a must have IMO.
It can be had for roughly 12.00 ea.  Z

My snow kit was specifically not "100% compatible".  I read many threads where people had run 100%, and all the pumps are the same and can handle it.  But the SNOW stage2 system I had was designed and warrantied for 50/50, and mentioned 50/50 on box and in manual.  That was my stage 2 kit before I sold it.

100% though is great if you can run it.

Really!?  Hrmpf.. I emailed and was told the stage 1 was OK to run 100% .. were you told it was not for stage 2?

Not told by them, was stated clearly that it was designed for 50/50.  Meant to take emphasis off not before I posted.  Nothing said it could not do it, but saw reports the lines were not optimum for it on stage 2 kit.

Store meth in a metal air tight can away from big temp swings and it will last you quite a while.  I still have a good 5 gal can from when I used to run meth in my mustang.

I talked to Snow again today just to make sure,  they said they warranty covers 50/50 and 100% *methonal* only.  Is the possibility someone elsewhere ran something besides 100% meth and killed the pump or lines.  the Red lines that come in the kit are also warrantied for 100% meth.

Since i have two emails from them i am going to run the 100% meth and monitor closely.

Sweet!!  Their manual made me think otherwise.  Now you are making me regret selling my kit!
